How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

the bathroom, curtain, carpet are very old, not very pleasant.
great location, 5-6 mins walk to subway. Airport Shuttle directly to the Hotel. Nice Staff, Clean beds, good A/C which is very important for Taipei Summer

The pillow could be more confortable.
I am living in Tainan, Taiwan and when I have to go to Taipei for a business trip that requires one of more night stay, I will always stay in Santos Hotel. It is a little bit outdated in terms of design but the rooms are spacious because it was build in the 80 `s when space was not yet an issue in Taipei. Hotels built back then have usually bigger rooms. It used to be a business hotel very popular with Japanese customers. I did not tried their breakfast so I am not able to give an opinion. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a very good foot reflexology near by.

Overall it was good, not fantastic. With the amount of money paid, I can't complain much, the location is good...the hotel is really old...staff are friendly. It has everything a good hotel has to provide and offer...just it is old.

Can tell the hotel is aged. One of the light bulbs is not working. The wall is peeling off. Can see a bit stain on the bathroom surface
The staff are friendly and welcome. Check in and out is quick. Room service is good too

The beds were the most uncomfortable we ever slept on. Wallpaper and ceiling appears dirty and decor outdated. No laundry facilities available.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. It is located in a good and clean part of the city with MRT, shops and restaurants nearby. Overall well maintained hotel and friendly.

The location is great, close to a subway station and easy to hop on a taxi. The building is old, but the room is clean and spacious!

Window was left open when we checked into our room on the first day - this meant there were mosquitos and our kids got lots of mosquito bites during the night 😞 we shut the windows in the morning and there were no problems after that.
Friendly staff, always so polite and friendly. Clean facilities, staff did a great job cleaning our room. Great location, nice and close to MRT station.

Staffs were not well English spoken. We suspected they might not become helpful for matters other than normal check-in procedures.
The room was spacious, clean and, overall facilities were comfortable. There were dehumidifiers sitting outside around corridor corners. Would have been better if it was in the room. Big windows, which were hard to see in Taiwan, so that we did not feel trapped. Location was in walking range with several exits of Minquan West Road station. Shops are located nearby i.e., convenient store, NET cloth store, WATSON, restaurants, etc.

Old and used room with old equipment. Mooving bed.
Hotel is located in good area with OK access to metro. The staff is friendly. The rooms are old and the equipment is cleane except of sleepers from some previous guest which the room service forget to put trash and which was under the beds. The beds are comfortable hard, but it is not fixed beds, but movable on temporary beds on wheels. The breakfast we did not used, but the restaurant area seems OK. Nearby to hotel is 7eleven so obtain the food any time is no problem.

Some simple requests seemed complicated. For example, asked for a plate and a knife and fork to eat some fruit. This apparently was impossible. Had to borrow these from friends living in Taipei.
