Reviews of Cabin of Sun Moon Lake

We had a great three-night stay at Cabin of Sun Moon Lake. Cosy, comfortable, spacious - it was perfect for us, self-catering independent travellers. Ample parking onsite, within easy walking distance of Ita-Thao village and we were serenaded with the sound of the beautiful forest, which surrounds the cabins.

Nothing! The WiFi was a little unstable - we were wiring during our stay and it dropped out a few times.

Fantastic location and lovely people

I got the top floor of one of 2 story cabins, with high ceilings, a large room, a balcony and wooden interior all around. The property is a 10 min walk from the bus station in Ita Thao away from the town activity, set in lush woods, and equipped with everything needed. It was a lovely setting for a quiet stay.

the signage on the property was understated - Google maps found it because the property shared it with the reservation, however once there, I didn't know where to check in. Since there's so little foot/car traffic in the cul-de-sac, the owners/managers immediately came to talk to me:)

My son (3) and I arrived by bus in Shuishe. We took the boat to Ita Thao and walked to the cabin; the host joined us on the road (unexpectedly) to make sure we were on the right way. Our cabin was quiet, clean and very comfortable. It would have been perfect for a romantic getaway.

Nothing. Just check the location if you come by bus and don't like walking.

I liked how the cabin looked, and everything was clean.

There wasn't any bar soap for the sink.

A five minute walk from the center, you feel like you were in a remote cabin in the forest. This was a nice feeling. The room was good for what we wanted and shower/water pressure was good. We didn't use the balcony or outdoor space but it looked pleasant.

There wasn't much to be dislike. The only recommendation would be to stock up on food/drinks because it is a 5-7 min walk to the nearest 7/11 or Family Mart.

FBeds were comfortable. Environment was serene. Room was spacious. Liked that there was a microwave and kitchen. After we checked out, they kept our luggage safe until we picked them up and left

Location hard to find. No breakfast. Showers were different.

Excellent little cabin just outside of Ita Thao.

The location in the trees is wonderful. It’s nice and quiet. And yet so close to town. The bed was very good.

Located a very short walk from the center of Ita Thao (perfect for walking off the yummy street food) beside a bamboo forest. Our cabin was spacious, very comfortable, nice wood interiors. We loved the soothing sound of gently flowing water outside our room and of the birds. Owners and staff are delightful and very responsive (we message them here on Booking if we need anything). We were even given fresh oranges by the owner. Snacks of cookies and crackers, and tea bags and bottled water are provided. Cute cats roam the property too. Here and in many places in Taiwan they ask you do not flush anything including toilet paper down the toilet, a lined bin is provided that you change as you wish—a larger trash bin is outside for you to dump your stuff in.

Spacious and clean room with basic necessities available. It was a 2 storey wooden cabin and we stayed at the second floor - had to carry the luggages up the stairs. The location was near Ita Thao, but far away enough to feel like you're outside. The host is also very friendly as we were lost but she very patiently guided us to the correct location.

The hill. Anyone walking should be aware that it's uphill to get there.

Secluded quiet spot away from the busy town but only 5 minutes walk to shops and restaurants. Liked sitting on the balcony in late afternoon.

It was quite cold and the heater could not keep up.

Room is very spacious and clean, location abit hard to find but suitable for self driving traveller, overall experience is nice.

Spacious second floor cabin with privacy to nature and just a short walk to the town and eating street. Perfect place with young children to play around.

Would be helpful if a sofa bed or bigger bed is provided.

Absolutely cute! Unfortunately we could only stay two night. It was definately our best accomodation in our three-week-vacation in Taiwan! :-)))

Absolutely nothing!

Removed from the tourist hubbub of the town, yet still within easy walking distance. Very clean. Great value.

The neighborhood dogs barked a lot.
