How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It was clean in general, but I'd take more care about the toilets on the 3rd floor.
Located 15min walking from the train station, surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants. Super nice owner!

The facilities are getting a bit old, and the bed aren't the most comfortable, but for the price it's still a very good value.
Nice little hostel. The owner is very kind and gave me a lot of advices for restaurants and regarding the bus. Great location, close to the bus and train station.

The owner is so kind, with lots of local knowledge of places to visit & eat, with great directions so kind, good location near shop, 14 mins walk from train. Bed comfy. Night market 20 min walk

Although the daily cleaning is obviously done, this hostel would benefit from a thourough deep cleaning (walls, showers etc).
Located walking distance from the train station. I had a single room, which was very basic. The rates are quite cheap. The owner is very helpful and gives addresses to travellers. Air con and fan in the room. Lounge downstairs with drinking water and washer/dryer.

You could hear the street traffic pretty loudly and other guests if they were in the hallway, so the walls seem to be rather thin.
The host gave us nice recommendations for food and borrowed us his umbrellas. The laundry machine is easily usable.

The room was a little musky, regularly the case in hostels though.
Manager was incredibly helpful, great with advice on what to do and where to go. Laundry on site was very cheap and worked well. Stored bags here after check out. Good location. Great value for money.

The bathroom only had one toilet and the shower had mold. The room we booked had bunk beds and a locker, but not enough room to keep our large suitcase in. We had to keep it on the floor in front of the bed which didn't leave any space for us to walk around the room. It felt very cramped.
Nick at reception was very kind and accommodating. The location was walking distance to the train and bus station that could take you to all the sights.

The bathroom facilities could do with a deep professional clean.

Common room was a bit small (same entranceway), the water machine was only giving warm and hot water, no cold. Also the owner was a stick in the mud, doesn't allow early check-in, and got mad at me for using the washroom while he was cleaning (he'd left some cleaning solution but I'd had no idea.) Otherwise it was a good place to stay for a short while.
Great location, 15 min walk from the train station. Room was clean and cold. Large lockers to store bags.

No check-in after 6pm,"you will be cancelled automatically".I hope the owner does not have the illusion to receive money on that.Also you are informed about this only after the booking,again no full refund on a cancellation seems ridiculous.

They have a fridge where you can store your food/drinks but no microwave or kitchen.
Nice spacious rooms and toilets. Located 10 minutes walk from the train and bus station. Lots of restaurants and cafes around the area.
