Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The location is very good, just next door to the mrt and morning market is nearby, super convenient. The staff is friendly and even allowed me to leave my luggages there few days earlier without charging me.

United KingdomIt was filled with what I assume are local students, business people and families. It’s not a great place for a solo backpacker to meet anyone and it was really loud in the common areas. The bathroom is a bit far from the room. I asked about which breakfast options are vegetarian, since they give you a voucher for breakfast at local restaurants, and I was told only Subway had a vegetarian option, which I wasn’t interested in. On my last day I found out that one of the restaurants has great local and vegan options (soy milk, tea and buns) and I felt like I missed out on the days I didn’t use it. Some of the staff didn’t speak good English.
It’s easy to get to from the station, the beds are comfortable. Some of the staff speak English.

United KingdomPerfect location. Right next to the station. Staff extremely helpful. Kitchen to use. Tv and comfortable social area. My one dislike was the fact the beds weren't made. You have to make the yourself. Now I'm absolutely fine with doing it normally, but when I arrive at 1 in the morning and start making noise making the bed, it could wake people. Other than that minor thing, perfect hostel.

Taiwanahh, I noticed some dormies are living longterms, so they have some bulk things around, may be request them to clean their spaces, throw away the unwanted garbages to welcome short term travellers like me :)
*typing............ (a whole big article on how bla bla bla)* but hey, it right next to MRT, McD, Subway, PX Mart, Family and 711. Facilities are good for the amount we pay in Taipei for a bed in a hostel, yeah. So, no complaints, perfect reception, good serivce.

TaiwanProblem with the system or need more coordination among the staff members. My original bed was not cleaned when I arrived, then a female staff offered me to change bed, I agreed. I gave her my card, thinking that she might need something to change in the system. She did something in the system, and gave another card with the new bed number on it. But the next day while I was napping, I heard a discussion a male staff and a guest that claimed someone occupied her bed in the room. And when I wanted to check out the next morning, another male staff mentioned that someone occupied my bed (original bed), I guessed it was that guest. And I explained the story.
Everything was good.

PhilippinesThe lady at the reception didn't give me any information where to get what. I had to find my own way and look for my bedsheets and pillow to do my bed. No towel was issued to me. As breakfast was included, it was not clearly stated how I would get it and within what time. The male staff were helpful and more approachable.
Clean and big common space.

GermanyMost people staying in the hostel are male. Therefore, the male bathroom can get quite crowded and usually looks a bit messy in the evening. Even more so, because there is just one bathroom for all rooms! Inside the rooms there are not even sinks for brushing teeth. So it might happen that while you are brushing your teeth you can hear somebody taking a dump right next to you.
The area where the hostel is located seems to be a busy area that is still active in the evening. That is not the case for all neighbourhoods in Taipei. The hostel provides slipers and I liked the night tables that each dorm bed had. I also liked that each bed had its own air ventilation. Furthermore, the hostel provides water and coffee in the kitchen.
