Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe staff were a little short at times when speaking to my partner in Chinese, but seemed fine to me and helped us when needed.
The room decor was a little dated, but still very comfortable.

PhilippinesThe hotel rooms (6 of them that I booked) all came with breakfast. However breakfast was in Mos Burger, which though close enough, was small and crowded. We had to wait for almost an hour to get our food. The stench in the restrooms downstairs wafted to the main dining place. We didn't bother to use the vouchers after 3 days of poor service. A simple breakfast in the hotel would have been better. The lady at the front desk had a poor grasp of English yet she was the one visibly annoyed when we could not understand her.
The location was great. It was close to good restaurants and convenience stores. It was safe to walk even late at night. The rooms were spacious. The lobby led to a nice veranda which my family hung out at to talk.

United StatesDates property, off putting odor in the checkin lobby, inaccessible outlets by the bed, one outlet was surrounded by gaping hole in drywall, bedsheet had old cigarette burn, bathroom tub was deep and tiled with no hand bar, very slippery and quite dangerous getting in and out of, and no hand soap provided by the sink. Hallway noise from other guests and doors were loud and disruptive. Rate was typical city pricing but for $260/night, we felt overcharged.
Location is great. Easy walk to metro, lots of restaurants and shopping all around.

TaiwanThe promised free breakfast turned out to be a coupon to a nearby Moss Burger with only low price selection. Unexpected with the hiked room price for our stay due to a popular concert nearby. The entrance way on first floor (lobby on 2nd) is way too narrow, not luggage friendly.
The room is very clean even shades/curtains a little outdated. Bed is comfortable and staff is friendly. Very close to a night market is a plus.

GermanyThere were a couple things that could be much better, however, which kept me from rating the hotel as exceptional. I don't believe either would be too hard to fix and so I hope these suggestions are acted on. 1. No hand soap in the bathroom. The hotel industry is moving away from disposable soap bars in many cases due to waste and sustainability concerns, and I understand Taiwan now bans such disposable amenities. Unfortunately, the proper solution of having soap dispensers next to the handwashing sink has not been implemented at this hotel though. Handwashing is important and this should be prioritized. Refillable soap dispensers next to the sink are a must. This is the biggest reason I didn't give a 10. Recommendation to hotel: Add disposable soap dispensers to the bathroom sink area. 2. Communication over the bedsheet/towel replacement policy should be improved and housekeeping services improved. There are signs in the room discussing the policy but many hotels have signs which hotels ignore so customers (myself included) don't know whether to take such signs seriously. Additionally, there is no discussion about the fact that currently housekeeping doesn't even visit the room on a daily basis. Recommendation to hotel: explain housekeeping policies at check-in and give guests a chance to schedule linen replacements at check-in (and modify schedule later by stopping at the front desk). Recommendation to hotel: have housekeeping stop by the room on a daily basis to straighten up the bed, empty trash cans, etc. Linens don't need to be replaced, and I don't really mind making my own bed, but most travelers will expect this. It may be possible even to replace linens even less frequently on average (maybe once a week if guests stay this long) if a daily straighten-up service is offered. Recommendation to travelers: bring a toiletry bag with small travel-sized toothpaste and some other things. Make up your own bed.
My trip was in August of 2024 and so some things in previous reviews have changed a bit. This hotel takes sustainability seriously and does a good job of it. The location is good -- near Linjiang Night Market, not to far from Taipei 101, and (important since I was going there for a conference) close to the National Taiwan University campus. I chose this place because the last minute deal was too good to pass up and I am glad I stayed there. The hotel is nice. The beds are comfortable and the facilities well maintained. As of August 2024, the hotel offers two different breakfast offerings. The first offering is a hotel breakfast voucher at a chain called MOS Burger and this is available every day. I would rate this breakfast option as functional but not great, but it is available for a wider timeframe in the mornings so can be worth considering. Most days, however, the hotel also offers a set breakfast. I guess business is not brisk enough to justify a full kitchen staff and buffet but the set breakfast is hearty: 2 slices of ham, some bacon, two fried eggs, and some various fruits and vegetables, some of them with a sesame dressing. They hire one chef for all of this though, and the chef is off some days, so this option may not be available every day. I have also grown more uncomfortable more generally with what I call hotel overconsumption (the need to change towels and bedsheets every day during a stay strikes me as wasteful) and the hotel does not do this. Instead they offer one change every three days ,but you need to request it at the front desk.

PhilippinesThe air-conditioning was not functioning as it should. There was air but it wasn't getting colder despite adjusting the temperature setting. The temperature outside the window was colder. The staff didn't believe that it was broken so we had to endure it our whole stay. As for the included breakfast, you have to walk a few blocks to get it at MOS burger because no cook after pandemic.
Location was near where we needed to be. The room was big. Big bath tub.

United KingdomThe room was a bit tired - could have done with redecorating and there were no plugs by the bed. The breakfast wasn't as expected - you were given vouchers for a local branch of MosBurger (a Japanese burger chain). MosBurger really is a great burger chain, but I was quite looking forward to a buffet breakfast instead of a burger and a drink. The air conditioning in the room was quite loud.
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly, and the hotel was near one of the night markets, and not far from Da'an Forest Park. The room was very big and it was nice to have a bath as well as a shower in the bathroom. Was also good to have a kettle in the room, and there was ample space and ample storage.
