The Doris Home is a special place. The staff and surroundings make you feel like you are at home. It is uniquely beautiful, relaxing and very convenient to all the sites in SML. The staff is exceptionally helpful in every way. And the breakfast thoughtful and delicious. Having beautiful cats around is fun

Phenomenal value! Convenient location (close to the bus station and ferries), very welcoming and accommodating staff, and also therr is a lot of cute friendly kitties in the lobby! The room itself was great as well, big comfortable bed and a clean spacious bathtub.

As everything shuts so early in the area it would have been useful if they sold snacks or had some beers available in the evening.

Friendly and helpful staff, very clean, spacious room and gorgeous cats. Handy location near bus stop and easy access to all sights. We had to leave early and were kindly given a pack lunch to take.

The room was modern and spacious as well as being very clean. The guest house itself is just a 5min walk from the centre. The staff was very friendly and helpful for any tips around SML. Overall we had a great stay (tasty breakfast was included) and big bonus points were the friendly cats!

A laundry facility was the only aspect missing

The staff were wonderful. We really enjoyed watching and interacting with the cats and were surprised by how immaculately clean the whole facility was. My husband is allergic to cats but he had no issues here as the cats aren’t allowed in the rooms and the public spaces are kept clean. The room was spacious and comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure. It was a flat and easy few minutes walk from the main bus station. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Very little to complain about. Keep in mind that the walk from downtown Shuishe to Doris does not have a pedestrian walkway, so you sometimes walk a busy roadway alongside traffic. Stay safe!

We honestly wish we could've stayed more than one day! Doris B&B is a small bed and breakfast operation in a modern building tucked away in an alleyway by the main highway circling Sun Moon Lake. The location is roughly a 5 minute walk from the main transit center of Shuishe, which is super convenient. The staff are extremely nice - most speak fluent English and have great recommendations for sightseeing and getting around the region. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic, perfect mix of hearty protein and vegetables/fruits (and free coffee). The room itself was extremely comfortable - ours had a king-sized bed, a small balcony with a limited view but nice enough to have coffee outside, and a shotgun-style bathroom complete with walk-in rain shower and bidet. To cap it off the venue hosts six cats, many of which are friendly and will either play with your luggage or do kitty biscuits on your lap. There are lots of luxury resort hotels around Sun Moon Lake that are pricier than Doris - this I thought was a much more wholesome and comfortable experience by far!

The interior design, decorations are tastefully done, with unique cat theme and 6 lovely cats.. It is very near to the bus stop, shui she pier yet in a quiet location. The place is well maintained and very clean. Owner and staff are very warm and helpful. Breakfast is delicious too.

Doris Home is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are spacious and ours had a beautiful bay window with a view over the treetops. Everything is sparkling clean and the cats are so cute!! Location is perfect just a few minutes walk from the bus stop.
