How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

-Floor space was a bit limited, but they dedicated areas to spread out -Bathrooms were outdoors, so it was a bit humid -Common area was a bit drab -Wasn't social, but that's most of Taiwan

Our own fault/slightly misleading - we were a bit confused thinking we would have a private room as the booking said double room - but it’s a double bed capsule with curtains within a large mixed dorm room. Still incredibly comfortable and enough privacy though.
Really really great hostel experience. Enjoyed ease of check in and check out and they had great facilities! Appreciate the aircon during the night!

Not social hostel. Saw one Caucasian bringing one girl back to the hostel middle of the night and it was very noisy. Iykyk. Hostel should paste a sign of no bringing visitors to the dorm.
Very convenient and safe. As you need a pass to access the dorm. 1 min walk to train station. Good food around the area.

If your bed is near by the door, you could hear the door being opened and closed the whole time
Very well designed, great spacious space, super clean, friendly staff! It’s not like some of the hostels in Taipei main station area being quite old and small

This place was incredible. They've thought of all sorts of little conveniences and amenities--shelf and storage space in your capsule, two different lights, hangers, a ladder with thick rungs and good railings that's easy to use/step on and off. There are hooks and places in the shower to hang your clothes and toiletries, and a glass screen to protect them from getting wet. Security was excellent, with a key card you could use for the outside door, the elevator, and your room. There's not a great social atmosphere, but I loved this place as a solo traveller. Location is also a plus, right across from the Dongmen station exit and down the street from Da'an Forest Park. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Staff were very inaccessible, as front desk was only open from 11 am-6 pm. Wish hours were longer for not only more flexible check-in but also to ask questions. Also, I was looking to book again for my second visit to Taipei, but I’m confused how the prices for one bed have doubled since the last time. I paid about $34 SGD per bed before.
Bathrooms are fairly clean, beds were very comfy. Loved how there was a coffee shop at the entrance.

Bigger lockers would be great. I came as a musician and had to keep my instrument by the bed because there were no way it would fit in the small locker under the bed. I know I probably could've find a solution with the staff if I just asked, but it wasn't that much of a bother and I doubt it would ever be stolen considering the security displayed to access the room and the level of privacy you get inside in your cubicle. The place is a bit hard to find when you don't know where it's located, especially after hours. But the spot is nice and even the frontdoor cafe is really pleasant.
Super helpful staff; they've done everything to accommodate my schedule. I'm used to dormitories and isn't expecting anything better than your usual lousy and dirty hostel when I book one. But this place is very clean and the bedspace is incredibly spacious, clean and convenient.
