How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast could have more options.
High floor, although last night was noisy. Good staff, very helpful, convenient to station. Modern comfortable bed and room, nice view.

Some hair on the bathroom bench, and stains on the bench and floor looked like they needed to be cleaned off. Very confusing light switches, some didn’t do anything at all, and room poorly lit with all lights on. No laundry service offered even though there are instructions on the laundry bag in the cupboard that says they do.
Comfortable bed in a spacious room, easily accessible from rail and bus station, and within easy walk to eateries. Free bikes were great too, easy to bike to the beach and other attractions. Breakfast was pretty good with many choices to suit different tastes. Good to be able to look out the windows and not be in a basement. Nice helpful staff in all areas.

No major issues.
Staff, particularly the front desk staff and the housekeeping cleaning staff are very good. The room was good size and very clean. Everything worked in the room. One particular front desk lady was really great-she even drove me in the hotel van to the train station when I checked out. The location of the hotel is very good for my long morning walks. I can reach Meilun Riverside in about 5 minutes and from there can go on a great 2 hour walk. Breakfast was Chinese food, and was OK. Coffee very good. This is obviously a well-managed hotel.

Heavy curtain protects privacy; however, it blocks sunlight during the morning. It would be nice to have another layer of light curtain so that room becomes brighter during the daytime.
The hotel is few blocks from HuaLien Train Station. The room is comfortable for both business as well as vacation trip. The breakfast served at the 2F were mainly oriental dishes, which was very tasteful.

I have pre communicate with the hotel’s staff in advance via the chat in Booking.com, but the front desk have no info of that when I checked in.

Breakfast is so so but it’s free. Selection is decent so can’t complain much.
Great location near the train station. Staff is excellent. Room is comfortable. Great value.

Bathroom does not have enough soap.

The location is perfect. Three minutes away from the Hualien bus transit center, which is the departure point for most of the bus tours. 7-11 is right on the corner of the street and many other restaurants are just within walking distance. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Room are bigger than I thought, much better deal than the ones in Taipei. Very satisfied with everything. Hope the lovely place recovers from the earthquake quickly.

Rooms a little small
Good breakfast, comfortable rooms though a little small, walking distance to train station, warm reception. Hotel is very helpful in arranging ahead for reasonably priced private car to Taroko day trips, very prompt in responding to our queries

No early check-in. We had to wait until 3pm although the hotel was obviously not busy.
Very spacious and clean room. Easy walking distance from the station. Friendly, helpful staff.

The staff working at the reception were very helpful. When we asked them for extra blankets they brought them almost immediately. The room was clean, well furnished and with stable Wi-Fi. There is a free parking lot right next to the hotel for quests.

Would be nice to have a sauna at the property to relax after a day of hiking
It is an excellent hotel - friendly service, convenient location close to the train station, very comfortable rooms, good breakfast with a choice of meat and proteins to get you ready for the Taroko hikes. Would definitely stay here again
