How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years but this has to be by far, the most well equipped hotel. They don't have all the fancy facilities, but what it does have is everything else you need. We stayed there as a family of 4 so we needed 2 room. The rooms aren't tiny but they give you just enough space. One room had a big bath/shower but the other did not. It's all the small touches for me- the house keeping adding the cable ties to your cables, the free cup of noodles they offer at after 10pm if you feeling a bit peakish, the free laundry service (wash and dryer) and the use of the steam iron was incredibly appreciated after weeks of travelling, the communal kitchen with some free light drinks and snacks and a dining area for you to eat your meals. The location was perfect, a minute walk into the heart of Taipei. The TV even had great movies on show! Such great value for money and ticks all the boxes.
We had 2 rooms and 1 of them didn't have any windows. Felt like a bit of a jail cell. However we did book very last minute so was grateful to have any rooms available. Also the only lift is quite small and closes the door a little too quick. But don't let this prevent you from staying- it's a great hotel.

Verified reviewLocation is superb. Staffs are very very helpful and friendly. Room is very clean. This is our second time staying here so we know what to expect and the amenities. What we like most is that we can stay after check out, go somewhere and wait for our flight time.

Verified reviewHotel is centrally located at Ximen metro station. There are 2 exits namely exit 3 and 4 to reach the hotel. With its strategic location, plenty of tourist attractions are within reach by metro. Though the hotel has no restaurants (hence no breakfast), there are 2 eateries diagonally opposite or just beside the hotel each selling taiwanese food such as dumpling noodles and meatball soup respectively. Nearby, there are 2 bakeries (which we bought bread from for breakfast) and 1 shop specialising in authentic almond soya milk. I particularly love the free laundry service in the hotel. At B1 of the hotel, there are 3 washing machines and 3 dryers for DIY. Free washing powder, baskets for soiled clothes, and plastic bags for clean washed clothes are readily available for personal use. There is also an electric vertical steam iron. Have made use of this free service throughout the stay. Hence, no need to do laundry back home and more free time to unwind after trip. My family loves the spacious common area (at B1 of the hotel) aka dry pantry for dining-in too. There are 2 microwave ovens for heating up packed food. Free beverages such as americano and water are provided via coffee bars and water dispenser. Hotel guests are welcome to take the free taiwanese snacks at the pantry. The friendly staff top up coffee beans regularly and they also maintain the area very well. There are charging ports too. While waiting for your laundry, you can take your meals, charge your phone or simply chill and relax. Between 10pm-12mn daily, they will leave instant noodle bowls at the reception counter for you to take. Near the reception, there are coffee bars, water dispenser and washrooms.
The family room is just right for my family of 3. It is clean and well-maintained. However, hangers (8 pcs in total) and hanger hooks may not be sufficient for travellers who did not bring their own foldable hangers and portable hooks. Luckily, we were prepared for this shortfall 😉

Verified reviewThe staff were really nice and accommodating. We enjoyed the free coffee and noodles. Location was great too, no need to walk far to the station. Also, Ximending Night Market is close by.
The walls are too thin. We could hear the people outside talking and dragging their luggages.

Verified reviewThe location was amazing. It was a 2 minute walk from Ximen station and 5 minute walk from Ximending.
The toilet could not flush despite us telling the staff multiple times. The staff were very helpful and did their best, however, also was told that we flush too much toilet paper which we did not think was the case. We often had to flush the toilet multiple times and even then, there was residue. The room for 3 people were also extremely small, we had 6 luggages and we had to open and close them respectively because we did not have space to leave them open. The sound proof in the walls were also quite poor. We could hear clearly others’ conversations or the toilet flushing/someone showering next door. The noise definitely was prominent.
