Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe carpeted area around the bed was stained and did not feel clean on bare feet. Luckily the hotel did provide slippers. The room’s soundproofing is not the best. For two nights we had stayed quite close to some rowdy guests, and it was quite hard to have a decent sleep at night. Otherwise the stay was quite pleasant.
Great location and friendly staff.

MalaysiaThe walls are slightly thin as you can hear your neighbors’ talking and even the water from their toilet when taking a bath or flushing
It is a quiet place to stay and it is near XingTian Temple station. There are a few convenience stores just within walking distance from the hotel (7-Eleven and Starbucks are just next door). Wifi is decently fast. TV has Youtube and Netflix. The hotel provides body wash and shampoo only, everything else will be by request. Overall, a good stay if you need a place to rest away from the bustling city (imo).

JapanCheck-inn hotel was conveniently located to the train station with several entrances close by. After a long travel day it was nice to not have to walk with our luggage very far. The staff were ready to check us in were Abe to get both of our rooms booked on the same floor. Upon entering the cute boutique like hotel we noticed its lovely wonderful smell of peach, noticed the umbrellas available for guest to use, this was a nice touch as it rained the first half of our week stay. There were chairs and tables in the lobby area to enjoy our snacks or as we waited for the rest of our group to come down. The elevators only allowed guest with a key to access the upper flors. That was a nice safety feature. Although the pictures looked great I did notice that the place was not very clean, our bathroom showed much signs of mold. And the carpets were stained. We loved the view from our room but noticed a lot of noise outside our window all night, maybe a birds nest? Overall, the hotel was just right for the price, would recommend it for those traveling on budget.

CanadaCheck-inn provided comfortable rooms with very reasonable rates. I loved the location of the inn- it is close to the MRT and many conveniences. Thank you for going the extra mile to call me when my mom left a clothing item behind. I recommend this inn to those who are seeking a clean, convenient, and nice place to stay. The one thing that can be improved is the soundproofing, as it is easy to hear the next room's conversations, and likely vice versa- otherwise, it was a great place to stay.

DenmarkThe hotel has gotten used over the last 10 years since I was there last time, especially the carpets in the hall in front of the rooms and some of the edges in the bathroom - but I would still come back.
I stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and it was obvious in a better shape them but what I liked most then was the same thing I experienced now. The location is absolutely superb with metro just next to the hotel. The small streets in area behind the hotel hosts many small shops and a lot of good smal cafes.

CanadaBreakfast is free from a local restaurant but very limited. You get 4 sandwich options only. Drinks, including coffee, is extra. The few options they did have tasted nice, but with a lack of options we chose to go elsewhere for the remainder of our visit to Taipei. We found the walls in the hotel to be paper thin. You could hear conversations clearly in the next room. The hotel staff were fine. We didn't really get any form of greeting or acknowledgement from them day-to-day, but this is more of a no frills hotel so we were fine with it.
Clean room. Very modern with basic amenities. The hotel is in a great location with a subway station that is very close by. Taipei has an AMAZING subway system that can get you wherever you want in the city - we didn't need to use Uber or taxi at all! Get an "Easy Card" from 7-11 and use Google Maps for the subway.

MalaysiaThere is a window but it faces an office building so we ended up always having the blinds down, from my searches for other accommodation in Taipei this seems very common and it didn’t affect us very much.
Convenient location since it was near the train station. Decently sized room for being so central and decently sized bathroom. Comfortable bed and blanket.
