How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Staff felt a bit stressed and frustrated. Not very approachable for a place of work that centers around hospitality. For the most part, I didn't need to ask them for anything but did notice this when others asked or approached them.
The beds were good and each room with 4 beds had a pretty good ac system. Common area was nice and they had water for you to drink. Bathrooms and showers were good for the most part.

More cooking appliances and kitchenware would have been nice
Good Hostel. I really liked the neighborhood it was in more than some other parts of Taipei I’ve stayed. Very well staffed and they keep the place clean. It was very social but this will vary by the guests staying at any given time of course.

Well located, convenient(amazing supermarket right beside). The only thing that i find strange is that older Taiwanese people staying there long period. Overall, i recommend the hostel.

a little sad that I asked for a bottom bunk but coudln't get one. Not a Bathroom smells terrible.
has everything that a hostel should. Nearby supermarket and Ubike stand is very helpful.

We had a nice room, with a good vibe. The hostel seems fun. Everything is clean. It is close to stores (7/11) and public transport.

The only real complaint is that the men's bathroom consistently smelled bad. No other issues at all.
Very very happy overall. Great value. Will happily return.

The floor was not hoovered properly. When the upstairs flushed, I could hear water going through pipes. It didn't affect my sleep tooooo much.
The location is perfect. Last time I stayed and left a comment on the poop smell lingering in the female toilet. It improved.

Bit unclean and socially it's dead, looks like it used to be a social hostel back in its hey day. Lots of Taiwanese staying here and some homeless living there too so it's not easy to meet others travelling and didn't feel welcoming. Showers drains got flooded often and toilets were unbareable at times
Lovely staff and they had a very good location with good facilities! Nice overall and a good starting point in Taipei!

I’ve stayed 3 separate nights here and it was mostly good… the last night I stayed however, I was exhausted and booked a private room. The walls in the private room are paper thin and the housekeeping staff started at 8am. I wanted to sleep in and that was not an option for this reason I was left not very comfortable and slightly tired and grumpy when I left

could’ve been a little cleaner and it’s a loud sometimes since the walls are thin.
the dorm was clean & tidy, they provided hair dryers, had flyers at the front desk and the washing machine was for free, location is great and there’s a supermarket next door.

The bathroom kinda smells maybe because there are a lot of cubicles. Also, the aircon wasn't fully cleaned when we stayed there. I always have colds whenever I wake up.
Comfy bed. Near the bus stops if you want to roam around the city. Price is good.

I’m a repeat customer. The only issue was that the door to our room was difficult to open and closed without using force, which created a lot of noise. The staff were aware of the problem but unfortunately couldn’t fix it during my stay. Despite this minor inconvenience, I’d definitely stay here again the next time. Overall, it remains an excellent choice for its value and comfort.

You should think about a bit bigger lockers (for computer/tablet) for clients, there are only small ones (for phone, wallet) available.
The facilities are great, the room is big enough if you stay for a few nights, there is a big kitchen and laundry machine available :)

The carpet really has a weird smell. I think it needs to be renewed. I think the hostel could use some updates in some places so it looks new again. The bathroom was kind of clean but it wasn't perfect. Also I did not like the sinks that connected with each other. This did not feel clean at all. There is no towel rental which is really weird.
Friendly staff. The bed was comfortable and the temperature in the room was okay so I slept well. There is a very big communal area which gives true hostel vibes.
