You get a small place for sleeping in a room with others and have to share a bathroom. But it is good for the amount of money you pay and the staff is really nice.

The only bad thing it’s the people who works there start to clean when you are in bed, they’re turn off the AC, go inside of the room and started to clean, idk why they did that, but that’s the only bad thing.

The rooms and the bathrooms are okay, you can stay there long time and no problem.

There is absolutely no staff on the premises, no one at all. So if you have any questions or concerns, everything happens over WhatsApp discussions. To me, this was irritating. There is only one bathroom per floor, which is not great at all. It seems there is some mould in the room, there were white towels to absorb moisture everywhere. Generally, Chiaya has expensive accomodations, this hostel is not more expensive than the others, but I don't think it offers good value for money. It's better to just take the train and sleep in Tainan for half the price and better conditions- this is generally applicable to Chiaya not just this hostel.

The location is very good, walking distance from the train station, walking to the big night market, very convenient. The living area is quite pleasant as well. There is also free laundry which is cool.

Didnt like the place much, it seems that there are more locals living long term than travelers.

Possibility to use kitchen was nice, but almost all the time there was cooking someone who was living there. Clean bathrooms and comfortable beds. Good location, close to the metro station.

I missed curtains in the bunk beds, however they asked for the light in the dorm to be out at 11pm.

It’s a very well-located and reasonably priced hostel. I don’t understand why so many reviews mentioned that the staff and the old lady weren’t friendly. I think the people who left bad reviews might have been the problem. I was a bit worried at first, but in the end, everything was totally fine. Everyone was actually really friendly and nice! 😊

The beds need lights, as there was a continuous problem of the main light waking everyone up at night and early morning, as soon as anyone was getting up or going to bed late. Mosquitoes were also a problem in the dorm.

It was quiet, located on a calm side road, close to the metro.

I had a fairly ok time. First night they had a full house. I didn't get too affected as I slept about 2 hours and then went down stairs to hang out in one of the common rooms. I was feeling hyper so I ended dancing to some music videos while the woman behind me who is deaf was doing a video chat with sign language. Next night I had thr place to myself.

If you are not Taiwanese they will ignore you. Just a 'correct' place to spend 1 night but I think they could be nicer to customers.

There is no locker box as advertised, and the room is a bit smelly, i think need locker to put baggage and guest stuff for safer and less messy.Bed no private like curtain to close so i need to hang my cloth to stay private

Laundry area with free detergent is quite convenient for guests, receptionist young lady can speak english very well and overflow tea and drink, pantry are always available for guests

People were being very noisy well past 11 p.m. Also had to wait to take a shower because a lof of people wanted to take a shower at the same time and there were only 3 for up uto 16 guests on that floor.

The air conditioning was not on all the time but it was on most of the time when needed. No towels but this is expected for a hostel

The staff kept the place clean all the time. The lady of the house enforced using house slippers only to be used inside no exceptions, which helped keep the house clean.

There are no curtains, which can be a dealbreaker for some people. Beds can be a bit hard especially the top bunks.

The location was nice. There were enough showers and toilets on the different floors. The AC worked well and the room was okay in size for 6 persons.
