The property was magnificent, beautifully nestled amongst the mountains. I woke up in the mornings to the birds' chirping. Super clean and well-maintained. Truly safe and quaint. The property also possesses some beautiful, artistic furniture pieces. Breakfast was delicious. Haresh prepared the traditional Caribbean dish Bodi for me, which was an excellent match with bread and omelet. I enjoyed having it while taking in the breathtaking mountain view. I truly appreciate the warmth, care, kindness, and attention of the hosts. Haresh and Asha are an amazing pair. I'm grateful for everything.

The memories of my stay at the Mountain Palace still resonate and will for a long while. Although all rooms are equiped with airconditioners, I am a person who prefers to sleep without an AC. Due to heavy rainfall during my stay mosquitos became a slight inconvenience; the availability of mosquito repellent and a fan would have eased this inconvenience somewhat.

The Mountain Palace is located in a beautiful mountainous area allowing for a spectacular view. The surrounding garden was landscaped in such a way to attract polinating birds and insects allowing for a unique close to nature experience. Haresh Ramrattan is an excellent host and most knowledgeable on all matters related to Trinidad’s geography, ecosystem, culture and more. Offering suggestions wherever appropriate to maximize the enjoyment of my stay. The breakfasts served during my week’s stay reflected the Trinidad cuisine, where I was never served the same meal twice.

The breakfast showcased the culture of Trinidad and Tobago as it was different every day. It was balanced showcasing the different food groups. We had fruits, vegetables, staples and protein. The views from the property were breathtaking.

The location of the property made it tricky to get around independently without a rental car. We decided against getting a car for our trip but luckily our hosts accommodated our needs and organised trips and taxis.

We were given a warm welcome to Trinidad and had an unforgettable experience! The property has a lovely terrace with incredible, panoramic views of the valley and rainforest and an abundance of birds in the garden! The hosts were extremely attentive and offered lots of information about local treats and activities, such as the waterfall trail. As an extra special treat, the breakfast involved a trip to the town to pick up some hot and tasty doubles!

Nothing!! I loved the property

My stay has to be the most memorable wonderful incredible experience of my 35+ years of international travel. The owners of the property are exceptional people of the highest order. I have made 2 very good friends. All the guests invited the owners to visit them in their home countries. Myself included! The hospitality experienced is on another planet compared to anywhere else I have stayed. The view of the valley and mountains is spectacular. The hummingbirds and birdlife are fantastic right here in the very well manicured and pretty gardens. To cap it all and this is certainly no mean feat - the food I was given and recommended was absolutely delicious with bursting with flavors. We ate all meals together with absolute joy and sharing experiences and banter. What an absolutely amazing time and experience. I will be back as soon as possible to continue this exceptional time shared. My heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Asha and Haresh. Thank you so very much.

My sister and I had such a wonderfull stay! The accomodation has a beautiful view. The room was nice and clean. The hostess were so nice and caring and they helped us out with everything. We enjoyed the local breakfast as well. We would definitely recommend the Mountain Palace during your visit in Trinidad.

Asha and Haresh were gracious and welcoming hosts who enjoy sharing their lives with you. They speak highly of each other and their children, it's warming to be surrounded by their love and respect for one another. Their home was clean and grand - I see why it's referred to as a palace in the mountains. The house is up a steep hill with lots of steps and is in a gated community. The bedroom was equipped with aircon, towels and homemade soap and I received a fresh cooked breakfast every morning. By the guest bedrooms is also a small seating area with a TV, kettle, and fridge. I didn't have a car and paid additional (between 25-50USD) for dinner each night which meant I didn't need to leave the property, it was a sanctuary and I was well looked after. As a guest you feel separate enough from the hosts to enjoy your own space peacefully, but they are on hand to check on you. One day I was taken out for local doubles and they were incredible. Homemade Trinidadian food really surprised me with its Indo-Chinese-Creole inspiration. If you're looking for tranquility, the sound of birds and to be surrounded by the colours of nature - this is it!

The only thing I missed were all the steps (clearly pictured) - we were ok with it, but there are a few - I guess that is what allwos for the wonderful mountain views! ! ! !

We could not be happier with our choice of accommodation, unfortunately only a short 1 night stay, but Haresh and Asha made it wonderful. EXCELLENT communication in advance, we booked their transfer and were warmly and efficiently greeted upon arrival. Glad we did as the home is in a gated community, and could have been harder for a random taxi to find. Obvious thought and care has been put into making their large family home into a comfortable retreat for visitors. Welcomed as a stranger and left as friends! Pictures are accurate descriptions of their home - we had no idea which room we would have (we chose the least expensive and were happy). However, there were much larger ones available. The bed was comfortable, we opted out of the A/C in favor of a fan and were very happy. (I run hot, so was surprised). Breakfast was excellent - we were asked what we wanted and requested an omlette - delicious and served on the terrace with beautiful views of the mountains and valleys - + lots of bird feeders and flowers! Would have been happy just relaxing on the terrace for more time than we had. Were fortunate their son was there and he took us to the boat yard where we met my brother setting off for a sail. Highly recommend if you want a personal connection in your booking along with insights of local life and island information. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful scenery from the balconies, nice and clean house with spacious rooms. The hosts were amazing and very accommodating, I would recommend mountain palace to anyone that wants to have a wonderful experience in Trinidad.

Absolutely amazing accomodation. A real palace with a lovely garden, beautiful surroundings and spectacular views. The room is also very nice and cozy, moreover the guests have access to other parts of the house, including kitchen, fancy dining room, a large terrace with many sitting places and beautiful views as well as the garden. The hosting family are the most welcoming people, always smiling, kind, positive, ready to help or advise and very knowledgeable about Trinidad and Tobago. They offer pick up and drop off at the airport as well as other places. Asha is a great cook experienced in international and of course also traditional cuisine. The whole family is so friendly that we felt like we were visiting old friends or a distant family. I'm very happy I found this accommodation as it really enhanced our trip to Trinidad and if we happen to come back, we would not hesitate to book this place again.

The greatest and most outstanding aspect of our stay at "Mountain Palace" was undoubtedly the warm hospitality extended by the hosts, Asha and Haresh. Their hospitality exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home, largely due to their warm welcome. They fully shared their private home with us, making us feel comfortable and welcomed. Asha and Haresh were incredibly helpful in arranging transportation, always ready to provide tips and suggestions. Additionally, they arranged airport pickup for us, which greatly facilitated our arrival. Their knowledge of Trinidad and the 2024 carnival was invaluable - thanks to them, we were able to fully enjoy our stay and the events on the island. I highly recommend "Mountain Palace" to anyone looking for not only comfortable accommodation but also an unforgettable experience thanks to the hospitality and care of the hosts.

I enjoyed it all.

Perfect for Carnival in Trinidad or really any time of year. The bed and breakfast type accomodation is conveniently located close to the main entertainment and nature attractions in the north of Trinidad. Asha and Haresh were fantastic hosts, always ready to suggest fun itineraries and bringing such great energy to running the hotel and making their guests feel welcome. The hot breakfasts with excellent local cuisine options were simply delicious! Definitely looking forward to a return trip

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Palace so much! Haresh and Asha were so welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home from the second we entered the house. They always made sure we feIt comfortable and it was a perfect start for us into our Trinidad adventure. They took us to Port of Spain, showed us all the nice food places, made delicious local breakfast, shared all their knowledge about Trinidads culture and were so helpful with our planning. The house itself is really beautiful and cozy, located in a peaceful quiet area with a view on the mountains. We slept like babies. We also loved the garden with all it’s sweet hummingbirds. Without a second of doubt I’d recommend this place to every traveller!

The location is out of this world. Pictures could never do the view justice. Haresh and Asha are very welcoming and friendly people! They took us to local food favorites of theirs to try, and everything was fantastic. They're also very attentive to every want or need. Not to forget, Maracas waterfall is a must! I've thought about this and honestly, there is just nothing negative to say about this place.

Family run business, and I was made to feel like one of the family. We had breakfast in one day, and on the other the owner took us out for a traditional Trinidadian breakfast at his expense - very nice of him. Cool seeing the hummingbirds in the garden early morning and evening!

Haresh and Asha were very welcoming and looked after me well during my stay. The house is huge, and beautiful, and guests are welcome to make themselves at home there. My room was comfy, with good aircon, and was quiet. The garden is a lovely place to relax, with a variety of birds visiting. The location offers great views, and is nearby a variety of hiking trails and Yerette Home of the Hummingbird. It's 30-40 mins to the airport depending on traffic. It's sited within a gated community, and feels very safe.

The Mountain Palace is a very unique and boutique style place to stay and its views are truly spectacular both from the wide and comfortable terrace and from the rooms. And while the house is a gem, it was the owners who with their welcoming nature and tailored approach to hosting guests made my stay a really great and comfortable experience. I am convinced that the mountain Palace with it's different beautiful rooms offers a unique experience catering to all sorts of travelling, from work trips, over couple trips to group vacations. As my stay was work-related, I was working from time to time in the place for which plenty comfortable space was available. In short, I can only recommend this place warmly and would always come back to this lovely place set in such breathtaking mountain panorama which is rare in the Carribbean.

The hotel offered lifts to us wherever we went however we forgot to ask how much the price would be. At the end we ended up with a bill bigger than we expected. Fault was with us for not asking but the hotel could also inform guests of prices before arranging bookings to ensure everyone is on the same page
