How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location of Millers Guest House was excellent, clean comfortable and well maintained situated right on Bucco Beach with beautiful views, their is a small bar and restaurant if you wanted to just relax, there is a local shop near by and you can have fresh fish straight from the sea onto the barbecue which is just on the pier.
The fridge in our room could have been a bit colder

Verified reviewIt is a great Location with beach close by and the possibility to do a boat trip to the coral reef e.g. The staff is very helpfull also with organizing trips. There is a restaurant, too, where I had a good dinner and breakfast. The location is also ideal if you need to fly early as it is only 15 mins driving away from the airport. I definately can recommed this place.

Bring your own electricity adapter with you. If you would like to borrow from hotel, you need to pay for it.

Verified reviewThe location is amazing! The staff were very helpful, polite, clean. The room was clean, no weird scents. Toilet and bathroom were both extremely clean, something I always look out for when I travel.
The mattress on the bed, seems like it needs to be replaced, and thicker bedding to tolerate the ac is needed.

Breakfast is extra, offered in a lovely restaurant with a sea view (but not open until around 9am so if you have small kids who wake up hungry make sure you have something in the fridge to keep them going until then!)

We thank you for your review. However , it must be stated that at Miller's Guest House we have a strict don't ask don't tell policy when it comes to any of our guest's sexual orientation. No guest, regardless of their sexual orientation, is offered reduced rights or privileges but at the same time no guest is offered increased rights and privileges either. As for the vibe, without a clearer explanation we would not be able to treat with that. At Miller's we give our guests space to enjoy their privacy and when we interact with our guests we are consistent in our approach with warm greetings. If there is a point of contention we address this situation with all seriousness. Again, we thank you for your review and hope to see you again as soon as you revisit our shores.

The price/performance ratio is not good, the rooms are clean but very small and offer little storage space for luggage. There were three of us in a small room and the small extra bed was very uncomfortable. The pictures on the website are misleading as only a few apartments have a kitchen. Please be sure to read the room description carefully! The host was sometimes not very accommodating. The guest house is ok but for this price there are better alternatives nearby

It is unfortunate that your expectations were not met as our primary aim is to ensure a synergy between expectations and experience , in this regard though it is also important that the reviewer set the correct context when the experience does not align with the expectation. The room booked was a standard triple {sleeps 3 persons} , there is nothing misleading about the associated pictures online via this platform or any other, as well as the size dimensions and noted/listed amenities therein , additionally there are other room options that are inclusive of kitchen facilities and designed/spaced differently of which the guest had the option to book, via this platform but did not , on arrival the guest paid in full and made no query/complaint as to the size of the room or its inherent features for the entire duration of their stay. Additionally the negative reference to the host amicability is indeed surprising taking into account that the guest requested a later check out and a beach towel of which both request were granted and the additional fees waived , by same said "host" !! Nonetheless we are thankful for your patronage and we look forward to hosting you in the not too distant future.

I chose this place largely because of the reviews which said the staff was friendly. The restaurant staff was very rude (barely looked me in the eyes) I was very disappointed when I heard that they didn’t serve breakfast. There was no coffee to be bought in the area and I had to walk around to find something to eat in the am. It was far away from the main part of town and taxis were expensive. Maybe it’s a more local place to stay and not so adaptable for foreign tourists. The manager was not too friendly either. Wi-Fi was not good.

The manager was quite surprised that you felt unattended to whilst you were here , in this regard he apologizes for any misperceptions that may have arose accordingly ,as for the Wifi if this was brought to management's attention it would've been corrected as our WiFi infrastructure has 3 different networks for just this reason. The breakfast option falls directly under the remit of the restaurant management , of course your complaints about the poor service will be brought to their attention for further investigation and if need be, the relevant reprimand applied , as a segue each room is equipped with a roadmap of the village and an orientation done on check in so it's surprising that you were not informed or aware of the alternative breakfast options available within the village , in addition to the groceries/mini mart options within walking distance for coffee, aside from the coffee station in your self contained apartment being stocked with coffee and tea on arrival, and just to be clear we have a proud history of accommodating diverse nationalities {both foreign and local} over the years as is noted via reviews through this platform and others. Nonetheless thank you again for your patronage and we hope you will again choose to stay with us while you are here.
