Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThis small hotel is a cozy and authentic 'Island' in the Fatih part of Istanbul, not far from the Bazaar and the Sultanahmed part of Istanbul. The local train is a 5 minute walk, the tram is 10 minutes, so it is easily accessible by public transport. Everyone in the area is friendly and very helpful, mainly the siblings and their colleague who lead this clan and very friendly hotel.

United StatesVery small bathroom.
I must admit that I was initially somewhat concerned, as I struggled to find reasonably priced accommodation in Istanbul, but could not find any one with hood evaluations. However, after exploring numerous options, I came across this hotel, which proved to be the most affordable and had some relatively good reviews. While some comments suggest that it may not be the ideal choice —if I may put it diplomatically—my personal impression is that it is, in fact, a rather good establishment for budget-conscious travellers. The reception staff can only speak Turkish, but they make use of Google Translate, which facilitates communication quite effectively. They are exceptionally kind and helpful, and willingly assist with any requests. They even invited me to share a cup of tea with them, and I felt as though we were old friends who are able to enjoy a pleasant moment without the need for many words. My room was small but clean and adequately equipped. The bed was very comfortable, with clean, good-quality blankets. The towels, while clearly past their prime, were clean and perfectly serviceable. The bathroom is also clean and functional, with basic amenities, though it is rather compact. It suited my needs, although I did find myself contorting slightly in order to wash my face and neck without knocking into the door or the mirror above the washbasin. In all honesty, that is the only drawback I can mention. My room was located on the third floor, accessible via a rather steep staircase. While this posed no difficulty for me personally, I appreciate that it may not be suitable for all guests. Fortunately, the staff kindly offer to carry luggage up to the rooms, which is a thoughtful gesture. An interesting detail during the check-in process is that the Wi-Fi password is not provided on a card or displayed anywhere. Instead, the staff request your mobile phone and enter the credentials directly themselves.

IrelandThe location was great, couple of minutes walk to train, one stop all the main attractions. The room was fab considering how reasonable it was priced, the outside is a little shabby, but do not judge a book by the cover. The staff were lovely, very helpful and honest, many people will take advantage of tourists and scam them, but not the people in this hotel.

United KingdomSmall bathroom, small room. Hard bed.
The room was very clean, staff very attentive and cleaned our room when we simply asked for more toilet paper, they don’t have spare keys so leave yours if you want it cleaned. The location is good, 15 min walk to the metro and in the opposite direction 15 mins to Blue mosque etc. half an hour to the ferry terminal and Grand Bazaar which consists of very steep hills going and coming back. Loads of restaurants/bars surrounding the hotel. The bed was rock hard but that’s personal preference. The room was very small and the bathroom super small however a good shower and all clean. Take your own coffee cups as they have very small paper ones for tea and coffee. Good value for money.

Algeriathe Wi-Fi connection wasn’t very reliable, and the cleaning service wasn’t done daily unless I asked for it, which was a bit inconvenient. Still, if you're looking for a clean, well-located hotel with great hospitality, this is a solid choice.
I stayed for a week at this hotel in Istanbul and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, making it a comfortable place to stay. It's a great choice for couples, with a cozy and quiet atmosphere. The location is excellent — it's close to many of the best places in Istanbul, which made getting around very easy. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. definitely one of the highlights.

CanadaThe room was fairly small and might be an issue if you have a ton of luggage, but it was as described and is expected for the area. The shower head wasn't in the best condition but had plenty of hot water and worked fine. There's often a lot of noise outside, especially during the calls to prayer, but this isn't the property's fault.
The staff were wonderful and made this an excellent stay. They were happy to chat, offered me coffee and tea, and provided helpful advice and recommendations about the city. The bed was comfy and the location is great, super close to plenty of restaurants and a reasonable walk to the sights in Sultanahmet. I'd be happy to stay here again.
