Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaGood location in the center of Selcuk, short drive to the Ephesus site entrance, close to the Archeological Museum. Perfect, friendly lady/owner, good breakfast, rooms for one night OK. We arrived quite late, after 2 AM but it was not a problem for the owner. Thanks. Considering location and a very good price, we recommend this stay to visit Ephesus

NetherlandsGood location in town centre. The place is clean, has good beds, airco, and good warm showers. The place is run by a very friendly family. One of them speaks basic English, and a younger daughter speaks good Dutch. Breakfast is decent. On saturdays the place is engulfed by a very large market.

United Kingdom5 storeys up, but then it probably did me good & just what I needed!
An authentic family-run pension in the heart of Selcuk with three lovely ladies offering a warm welcome & hospitality, a traditional breakfast, and basic but adequate rooms, with balconies. The Saturday market on the doorstep extending way into the square & side streets was a highlight, as were the short walks to the train station to the left and the bus station to the right. All manner of shops, bars, cafes restaurants adjacent, Selcuk is a wonderful little town, and then there's Ephesus a short hop away!

South Africanothing really for the price I paid . basic , clean & comfortable place to rest your weary bones at night
I'm not a fussy traveller , basically I just need a comfortable room with a private bath room of sorts . This place ticked all the boxes , i did have to carry by suit case up 3 flights of stairs , but hey that's the joys of travel

IndiaThe WiFi here is super slow most of the time. I wish they could fix that. Also, the power outlets are in a weird spot, and only one thing can be plugged in at a time because the other outlets are too close.
The staff was awesome. It was really close to the bus station. Breakfast was good, it was a good way to start the day.

United StatesI stay so many places, I accept responsibility for not reading some parts of the listing more closely. For example, that the lead pictures of the pool are at another location and not part of the rooftop terrace (empty space). Or, that soap and shampoo toiletries are not provided. Thankfully, I always travel with some and there was hand soap and a left behind bottle of watered down shampoo on the bathroom sink. However, there's no escaping that the listing says they accept credit cards. They don't, and thankfully I read that in a review and came with cash. I booked a double room, says queen bed, but listing photos show two single beds and that's what I got. The mattress was really soft, which I like, but turning over was a challenge in the small bed when sunken into a body divet. In addition, listings say all rooms come with private bathroom but there were two shared bathrooms in the hallway that other rooms were using. And the balcony? A narrow door hidden behind the curtain that opens onto an outer hall you can get to by stepping over edge of the bed. I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN, but future guests should be aware of what they're getting.
The room was ok but it took 4 nights for this place to grow on me due to all the surprises from the listing. Other than price, the real bonuses here are the owners and location. The sweetest people run this family-owned business; their homemade peach jam served with breakfast the best I've ever had in my life! Location is also prime with convenient walking distance to train station, bus lot, Selçuk attractions, and a bountiful Saturday Farmers Market that sprawls in all directions from in front of the hotel. Good WiFi, plenty of hot water, and I did appreciate the shower curtain to keep from spraying over the entire bathroom. I would stay here again.

HungaryThe owners are elderly ladies, therefore everything is slow and you have to wait a lot. The breakfast is included in the price but I never managed to get it. The AC was not working properly in the room though I would have needed it for heating, as it was cold and rainy throughout my stay.
I had a private room in a fairly good location. It is cheap and comfortable because of the private area you have.

The location was central for me, however noisey. Staff were friendly and tried to help when understood. Breakfast was typical Turkish, but enjoyable if it differes from your regular routine and sufficient for me.
