Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe facilities, carpets at the halls and stairs are a bit outdated. Hammam needs attention before it becomes unsafe to use ( drain covers are stocked up and create trip hazard). There were road works in the main road that made walking around the hotel quite unpleasant.
The views of the hotel. It has a character and its a charming place. People working at the hotel are very calm and smiling, hence make a relaxing atmosphere to stay.

United StatesThere is no elevator due to its historic status as the first cave hotel with en-suite bathrooms. The furnishings are a bit dated. But the hotel is clean and tidy in every way.
Staff was excellent. Breakfast great. Pool area has bar, restaurant, showers and restrooms. The view was so beautiful. And it is a historic property.

United StatesUnfortunately the whole hotel of clients had to be moved because of a request from the Municipal water service but Kaya put me in an equally wonderful hotel in Uchisar town where they gave me a nice room with windows.
Uchisar Kaya is always a soft place to land when I visit Cappadocia. They gave me the room that is my favorite to take balloon photos in the morning from the balcony. The view is stunning and unique in the world.

United StatesThere were a lot of bees, they can benefit from screens and the pool closes too early. Should be open till sundown to accommodate people sight seeing etc and coming back around 6-7pm.
This hotel was amazing, clean, very accommodating, staff was extremely nice, food was delicious. Services for hamam and massage were also excellent. A big shout out to the restaurant team for all their support for our specific asks and flexibility of dining time whenever we wanted to and not striating us to a limited time frame to eat. The food selection was also impressive.

AustraliaBreakfast was so awful, option was very weak and coffee was so bad that we couldn’t even drink coffee. We stayed 4 nights and last day they gave us food to eat from previous day, ham was from previous day and dry already, oranges were looking very bad from day before. Breakfast place is also very hot, barely have aircon. Also aircon in the rooms were very noisy like they starting to fall off from the wall. Was making sleeping so hard. The hallway doesn’t have aircon, it’s very hot and carpets are everywhere and they look dirty and gross. These have not been replaced probably 20 years.

IrelandThe hotel is old and needs urgent refurbishment. The images on the website are deceiving, the rooms are too small, the paint job on the balcony railings is chipping off, cracks on the balcony walls, and weeds growing between tiles around the pool pavement. Old outdated furniture takes up a lot of space in the already small-sized room (advice to management - replace the wooden wardrobe with a clothes rail and hangers to save space, install a full-length mirror instead of a chunky desk, brighter lights in the bathroom by the make-up mirror). Overall attention to detail is lacking. If you're looking for an authentic cave room experience, be mindful when booking, the rooms on the upper floors are not cave rooms.
The hotel location is perfect, especially for the morning view of the balloons. The breakfast was very good with many options of cold and hot dishes and a selection of fruits and pastries. The staff was helpful and the hotel manager was very friendly and professional. The views of the Pigeon Valley and Uchisar Castle are amazing.

MaltaVery noisy. There is a disco right next to the hotel that is on till 4am and you hear the noise in the rooms. Doors are not sound proof - so anyone talking in the corridors sound like they are in your rooms Also, staff were sometimes snarky and rude - we dropped off my mum (who is disabled) and a guy came out running and yelling no parking... We told him ok we just want to drop her off... He started shouting at us to open the boot for the luggages (because he doesn't understand English) and we repeated that we are just dropping off passengers. Also those with mobility issues, make sure that you advise beforehand - as they don't have a lift - we barely found a room for my mum.
The hotel architecture is unique and the view especially in the morning of the balloons is amazing. Good selection of breakfast

United StatesThe entire hotel is in bad need of a renovation. It has faded in glory. There have clearly been *some* upgrades (carpeting, AC in rooms) but even those are in need of a refresh. The AC leaked terribly (soaking the carpet, filling multiple pitchers daily) and rattled to the point of madness. Our friends actually tried to fasten it together with bandaids. There is mold in the room because of the dampness. The food is frankly really bad compared to everything else we had in Turkey. The staff was nice but not helpful: difficult to communicate with before and during the stay — not even a passing level of English. What’s worst is that despite all this, it was not cheap. Go elsewhere!
The hotel itself is unique — lots of history and the pool was nice to have. Nice views. It could be very cool with significant investment.
