Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe rooms were very basic with limited toiletries in the bathroom. The room size was also small for a family. It was comfortable for a one night stay.
The location was the reason why we chose this property since it is just minutes from the Troy Archaeological Site and Museum. The owner and his team were very helpful and even prepared a homely dinner for us. Breakfast was simple but nice! The owner also arranged a taxi for us the next day to take us to the bus station in Camukale!

CanadaThe rooms are suitable, yet sparse. No coffee station or fridge at all in the rooms. Our timing, travelling in March, didn't lend itself to abundant meal opportunities.
Exceptionally situated in downtown Troy opposite the tremendous Troy museum and less than 1km from the historical ruins. Caters to campers and guests requiring accommodation. Travelling in March was beneficial to avoid large crowds and excessive heat. The owner runs a restaurant and souvenir shop.

FinlandThe owner, Uran, is super kind and we spent some time talking. I arrived late and when I parked my car, his wife was waiting for me. Uran said he used to be a guide for in the ancient city of Troy so he happily have me some tips of the place. The breakfast was super nice, with olives and grapes from their own garden that made it feel like you were staying in a cosy, homey aunties place. The location is also very convenient for visiting Troy.

United StatesThe shower in the bathroom is one of those slightly recessed areas without any enclosure that are not uncommon in less expensive and/or more rural places throughout the Mediterranean, so if one isn’t careful, the possibility for getting the bathroom pretty wet is there. And there was no shampoo or soap bar, though there was liquid hand soap and a small bottle of lotion.
Very simple but clean, attractive, and comfortable accommodations in an unbeatable location literally across the road from the museum at Troy (and maybe 800 meters from the archaeological site). The owner was amazingly helpful and accommodating. (He cooked me the breakfast that was included with the room rate and also a very good - and inexpensive - dinner of meatballs, rice, and eggplant, along with a salad picked fresh from the garden beside the pension.) My room itself was in a building that seemed almost new. The furnishings are relatively spartan but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate. For anyone headed to Troy and staying overnight, it’s absolutely perfect and a terrific value.

New ZealandThe price was expensive for what you get compared to other places we've stayed in Turkey. It was actually one of the most expensive ones we've stayed in Turkey. The dinner was very expensive and we didn't have dinner here.
The room was specious and the location was fantastic, very close to the ancient city of Troy.

Czech RepublicThe place is right across the museum, close to the archaeological site and in a walking distance to the village center (shops, restaurants etc.). The room was spacious and there was a place to sit also outside, in front of the apartment. Owner is very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was good. Good value. Recommendable. Friendly young cat in the courtyard. (Minibus to Canakkale stops close to the museum, i.e. also across the street.)

United StatesThe location was perfect, right across the street from the Troy museum and about a 10 minute walk into the ancient city. The rooms were good value, the owners were very friendly, and they have a small restaurant on property which is convenient. We also liked that breakfast was included in the room so we didn't have to go find a place before going to the sites. It's simple, not fancy, but a good value for a stay and breakfast. We ate dinner there both nights as we were tired from travelling and the food is homemade and good. We'd recommend this property if your intent is to visit Troy.
