How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Excellent location near all historical buildings and sultan Ahmad mosque. Excellent privacy in suite. Special thanks to Mr. Hüseyin for his cooperation and support to make us with unforgettable journey to Istanbul he solves many issues to us in our bookings days and facilities in the suites

The actual status of the facilities. Almost everything was broken and or damaged. A water leakage in the bathroom - even if told the same day it happened- has been repaired for the entire staying.

The stairwell was a bit daunting but we knew in advance that there was no lift. The staff were very helpful in helping carry luggage. The location is good but it is a steep climb up to the mosques and sites - Istanbul is quite hilly.
Nice apartment with large balcony. Very helpful staff.

Needed maintenance: damp, squeaky floors, smell in the bathroom, fungus and mould in the bathroom, broken hair dryer, main door was broken , key did not work well.
Great location, cozy and bright place, comfortable and clean. Toiletries available. Hot water available

Location is on the lower part of Sultanahmet, so going up and down to the tramway station is a daily trip in itself. Staff seemed to me excessively formal and neutral. Price indicated on my booking was 100$ but the manager insisted it is 102$, so I gave him 110$ and he gave me change 5$ and said he'll give me the remaining 3$ later, which never happened. I know it may seem I'm making a lot of noise for just 3$, but the point here is that I didn't like the mindset of him not letting go 2$ in favor of a client, but permitting himself to let go 3$ on the client's back, especially when I knew he was the manager.
The suite was cozy and equipped as mentioned in the description.

I didn’t like Housekeeping. We stayed there for 4 days and no one came to clean the room. And we had 3 big bags and they gave us basement room with no lift so it was a bit difficult.

I didn't like the breakfast. The breakfast was very meager and not tasty. I don't recommend taking breakfast. It's better to go to a cafe nearby.

A beautiful, clean apartment with a great location. The staff were very friendly, especially Hussein, who was very respectful and helpful. I would recommend it to my friends and any family, especially since the apartment is a good size and close to everything that tourists need.

The toilets got a bit of a funky smell towards the end, and the balcony flooded once, but otherwise it was great value for money and a decent place with helpful staff.
Quick check in, friendly cleaners, arrived early but got sorted out with a different room before we checked into our booked room the next day.

The bed, the kitchen, no glass cups, mugs . . . etc, and the risky stairs.

Nice place, it was spacious, a nice suite with a Nice balcony. It is very close to both the blue mosque and Hagia Sophia, it is in the heart of Istanbul. The staff was very helpful especially Mr Huseyin was so great to help a lot whenever we needed. Breakfast was also delivered on time everyday by Mr Serhat.
