How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is a very beautiful hotel with stunning views from the rooftop to see the balloons flying over in the morning. Location is very central, close to the main street so didn’t have to walk far. Rooms are spacious and clean and breakfast was high quality. I have stayed previously in a different cave hotel and this was so much better.
Nothing. Loved everything

Verified reviewLocated in the heart of Goreme & authentic stone cave hotel
The staff generally ok but not as helpful or as friendly as Mustava who helped with organising the Butterfly Balloon ride and was happy to chat about the area etc

Verified reviewPerfect location, clean rooms, expansive terraces with great Instagram-ble views of the hot air balloons, great customer service and good universal breakfast.
The private terrace is not private, and the private breakfast is not private. It’s semi-private, sharing it with other guests. The rooms are not well sound-proofed, noise can be heard from the rooftop bar and the neighbours at night. Only filter coffee for breakfast, no cappuccino or flat white or similar options exist, not even for the private breakfast for which we paid 50 EUR per person.

Verified reviewThe rooms were beautiful and so cool being made of stone, it was close to everything, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast up on the rooftop was lovely
The wall sockets were all blocked apart from one which had the kettle in it, so we had to share charging our devices with one plug. The bathroom kept having a sewage smell to it.

Verified reviewI really enjoyed the view from the rooftop — it was incredible to see the hot air balloons so clearly. The hotel’s design is amazing, combining traditional Turkish heritage house elements with comfort.
It may not be suitable for elderly guests, as getting to the breakfast area requires walking uphill.

Verified reviewWe loved our experience staying at Henna Hotel, from the welcome tto the gorgeous room, the breakfast and the gorgeous view. Sad that the Balloons didn't fly when we stayed but still so much to do and see. We would definitely stay again.
The only blip was the land cruiser excursion that was arranged for us - it seemed unplanned and the driver wasn't really interested. A few hairy moments that felt dangerous.

Verified reviewWhat did I NOT like?! Everything down to the details of the art that was chosen to decorate the space was impeccable. Extremely clean. Awesome courtyard. Amenities and decorations are sourced or commissioned locally. History lovers would love it. Full-marble bathroom. the photos posted don’t do its justice. I wish we could stay for longer! Breakfast was great. It says on Google a 3-star hotel but really it’s five stars. Can’t recommend enough.
Our sink faucet was a bit loose and the service from the restaurant can be improved. Staff (of the restaurant) was borderline rude.

Verified reviewLocation is perfect.
Cave (delux) rooms don’t have air conditioning. We had booked the delux rooms & were lucky to get a free upgrade to the suites with aircon. One friend chose to downgrade to the standard room for aircon.

Verified reviewGood location, rooftop beautiful view
When taking photo with the hot air balloon on the rooftop , expect they will display breakfast for decoration, but they didn’t, a little bit disappointed.

Verified reviewHighly recommended hotel with cozy, clean and strategic location just a walking distance to the wondeful tourist spot (i.e Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofea, Grand Bazaar and Eminonu Ferry Terminal). Besides the that, the hospitality is amazing from handsome General Manager (Mr. Ali) and the beautiful Manager Miss Samma. Thanks from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
All good

Verified reviewThis hotel has a fantastic location and is a wonderful place to watch the hot air balloons in the morning. The private rooftop, which requires a reservation, offers an unobstructed view of the balloons. All the staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful. I’ve already recommended this hotel to several friends who are planning to visit Cappadocia. It was an excellent experience and one of the highlights of our trip.

Verified reviewPerfectly located in Goreme, very convenient to all the amenities. The room was great and ideal with a big bed and AC. The hotel staff a very friendly, and make sure you book your balloon ride very early and from the reception, as I saved £100. Also, book the RED and GREEN tours at the hotel, I found it was cheaper too 😊 the rooftop area is brilliant for breakfast and dinner 🥰
It was a steep walk to the room, but that’s kind of expected as Goreme is a hilly location, so you’ll have to get used to it. Would be nice if the breakfast had a larger selection.

Verified reviewA wonderful hotel in the center of Goreme. A great view of the whole city from the upper terrace. Enchanting mountain views from the windows and chirping birds. Dining rooms of amazing beauty. Comfortable bed and pillows. All staff are helpful, smiling, polite. Big thanks to the guy at reception who helped with the bags / luggage. Live music often in the evening in the restaurant. We flew with a balloon from the recommended company (Butterfly balloons) and the experience exceeded expectations.

Verified reviewThe room was very spacious and had all the amenities. However, our room was in the pathway to other rooms and the restaurant, so you could hear everyone passing by.
The breakfast needs a little work.
