How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewOur stay at this hotel was truly memorable. The office manager, Haroon, was extremely hospitable and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable, and the rest of the staff were just as welcoming. This location is perfect for families with kids—the rooms are spacious, well-kept, and very comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight, with a wide variety of freshly prepared options each morning.
We also booked a private van through the hotel for our 2-day Cappadocia tour, along with a hot air balloon ride. Everything was well arranged, though I would advise guests to compare prices at certain stops, as some places the driver might take you could be more expensive (sometimes charging in dollars).

Verified reviewOnur Cave Cappadocia is an excellent hotel with amazing staff, a wonderful location, and a truly unique atmosphere. The breakfast was so tasty and delicious, and the warm, homely feeling of Turkish and Göreme hospitality made my stay unforgettable. The views from the room and the rooftop were breathtaking, and the cave-style rooms gave a special charm to the experience. Special thanks to my friend Haroon, who helped with every request and treated each guest with kindness and hospitality — I feel I’ve made a new friend in Cappadocia. Many thanks also to Ahmed for his constant support, and to Sevgi Hanım, the warm and friendly host of the hotel, who not only ensured everything was clean and organized but also personally took part in preparing the wonderful breakfast. Next time I return to Cappadocia, I will definitely stay at Onur Cave Cappadocia again. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewThis is a real cave hotel with a remarkable experience of staying inside. Located in a great hill, it has beautiful scenery from its terrace. Furthermore, the hospitality of their management makes it feel more like home. You can ask the receptionist for a tour suggestion or anything and he will give you a helpful and honest one. Thank you for the short memorable time.

Verified review1. The boss and manager, Onur, is such a handsome and nice man. 2. All the staff, including the family and others, are all great, always willing and ready to help. 3. The rooms in the cave are quite unique. 4. They provide plenty of options for foods for breakfast. 5. We were 5 persons together. And all of us enjoyed our stay here. Missing my time in Goreme. Will definitely go back again.
It’s absolutely fine for me that there is no air conditioner. No bother for sleep at all, since the room cools down in the evening. But AC could add to someone else’s joy of staying.

Verified reviewStaying at this cave hotel in Cappadocia was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us like long-lost family—warm, genuine, and always ready to share a smile. Our host, Harron, went above and beyond: he guided us through the history of the caves, recommended hidden gems for sunset views, and even helped us arrange an unforgettable hot-air balloon ride at dawn. Our room was carved right into the soft volcanic rock, blending rustic authenticity with every modern comfort: plush bedding, mood-lighting that highlighted the natural stone walls, and a deep soaking tub perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Waking up to the soft glow of sunrise filtering in through our arched window was an experience I’ll never forget. Each morning, we feasted on a sumptuous spread of local cheeses, honey-drizzled pastries, fresh fruit, and piping-hot Turkish coffee. Evenings were spent on the terrace beneath a canopy of stars, sharing stories with other travelers and sipping regional wines. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is its people. Whether you need insider tips on the best hiking trails, want to taste authentic gözleme in a nearby village, or simply crave a friendly chat over çay, they’re always there—cheerful, knowledgeable, and attentive. If you’re dreaming of the perfect Cappadocian retreat—where history meets luxury and every guest is treated like family—look no further. This cave hotel exceeds all expectations, and thanks to Harron and the entire team, our stay was an absolute delight. Five stars all the way!

Verified reviewFantastic location, great hospitality, and very good breakfast. Harun and the owner family were great hosts. The rooms are comfortable and have great views with very nice terraces. This is absolutely the best area to stay in Cappadocia. 3 minutes walking distance to the center of Göreme and the hotel is located on a hill which has a great view of the whole city. The balloons in the morning flying right in front and over the hotel was a magical experience.
Bathrooms could be improved.

Verified reviewWe did a road trip through part of Turkey, starting in Istanbul and ending in Antalya, with a detour to Cappadocia among other places. Of all the hotels we stayed in, Onur Cave Hotel was by far the best. First of all, the hotel is stunning. It looks recently refurbished (or incredibly well maintained), with a clean, high-quality finish throughout. A lot of thought clearly went into the design - it's aesthetically beautiful and blends perfectly with the surroundings. The rooms are authentic cave rooms - and they were very cool, in both senses of the word! Thanks to its perfect location, we were able to watch the hot air balloons drift by from one of the hotel’s terraces m- a truly magical experience. Breakfast at Onur Cave was the most delicious we had during our entire trip. While we had more abundant breakfasts elsewhere, the quality of the food here was unmatched - everything was so fresh and full of flavour. I have not tasted tomatoes that good since my grandfather grew them in his garden! The terrace setting for breakfast was also beautiful. The family that runs this hotel is absolutely lovely. They were warm, kind and genuinely wanted to make us happy, while also being respectful and never overbearing. Their hospitality was truly memorable. The value for money here is incredible. We were genuinely sad to leave, and when we think back on our trip to Turkey, Onur Cave is what we remember most fondly. Even the kids said it was their favourite hotel - beating a five-star all-inclusive with a water park! Do not hesitate to book. This place is unforgettable.
We liked everything - no complaints at all!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your wonderful review. Your kind words truly mean the world to us. It was an absolute pleasure to host you, and we hope to welcome you back again soon! Regards Haroon

Verified reviewOnur Cave was in a great location, close to food and shops. A very quick drive to the Open Air museum too. We watched the balloons take off, it was mostly a good view, although there were other places that may have given you a view of the horizon. Haroon was very helpful and gave us a free room upgrade. Breakfast was open buffet and delicious. A cute hotel with friendly staff, definitely recommend!
The bed wasn't 100% the best.

Verified reviewVery nice place to stay in warm summer. For the baloon spectacle, you just leave your room. Thanks to Haroon, who is very communicative and speaks English, that is rare in Turkey, we got all info we needed.
Locality is very crowded, but it is obvious. No noise in the room.
