What we didn’t like: • Very crowded parking – we had to leave the car key at the reception so they could park the car for us. • Poor Wi-Fi connection, unstable and slow. • The room was very hot, and the air conditioning was a disaster – patched with tape, extremely noisy indoor unit, barely functional. • In the morning, there was no cold water at the sink or shower. • Breakfast was the most basic and poor we had during our entire trip in Turkey – though this seems to be common in Canakkale. • Extremely overpriced for what the hotel actually offers. We chose a more expensive hotel hoping that is better than others in Canakkale. But this one is pretty much the same as a half priced one. I recommend choosing a different city for transiting in your holliday to Turkey.

What we liked: • Central location, close to the ferry and city center. That’s pretty much it.

The air conditioning blows directly onto you in bed. You cannot direct it up - it keeps falling down. I ended up sleeping in the single bed with my head at the bottom of the bed

We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our time. The accommodation is basic but comfortable. We had a problem with our air conditioning leaking very badly the first night. We let them know in the morning and by the time we got back it was fixed, so we had a much better sleep the second night. The reception staff organised a taxi for us which was no problem at all. There was a large buffet for breakfast which was good.

The staffs were friendly and helpful, all facilities were well maintained and clean, convenient to walk around the city center. Breakfast was also nice with many options. If you come from the bus terminal (otogar), it was also easy to reach from the final bus stop (10-15mins walk).

Great location in very ‘happening’ part of town. Room was comfortable enough, though bathroom very basic and room safe didn’t work. Staff were super-helpful and provided great support throughout. Parking nearby. Breakfast was disappointing compared to other places we’ve stayed.

Location is very good. Within 5 minute walk to ferries. Plenty of places offering food. Staff friendly and helpful. Valet serve for parking car at no cost. A fair selection offered at breakfast mainly turkish. Plenty to choose from.

Smoking is very common throughout Turkey, unfortunately the smell in our room was quite strong. Breakfast wasn't the best, but we coped.

Location is very close to the ferry and many options for food, shopping.

Just a little quibble. There was a good variety of food for the breakfast of cold and hot food. Our only suggestion is that they find a way to keep the hot food much warmer. At times the scrambled egg and sausages were cold.

Location excellent. Lots of bars , shops and restaurants close by and good value. Short walk to the Ferries. Staff very friendly and very helpful. Rooms cleaned every day.

The location was brilliant. We had a car and the staff ran out the front and took the car and parked it for us and helped with the luggage. Very friendly. Good breakfast.

Major issues with lift getting stuck constantly. Very frightening for guests and no obvious plan to warn people about using it. Had to climb out between floors on one occasion. We were stuck many times so in the end had to use stairs. Fire exits blocked with cleaning gear, mattresses, water etc. Without lifts and exits blocked health and safety a concern. Breakfasts were poor Bread was stale and had to ask for it to be replaced.

We enjoyed out time at the Grand ANZAC Hotel. The location is perfect. The staff very helpful and obliging, especially Okan. The rooms were immaculate. The breakfast was adequate, there is something suitable for everyone. Being in the centre there is an element of street noise, which is only to be expected. Would definitely stay here again.

We were unfortunate to have a coach load of school children on the floor below. They were extremely noisy, but it wasn’t the fault of the hotel. Also some noise nuisance from the street

Sheets were too small for the bed hard to share in the night with your partner.

Friendly staff, location and clean tidy rooms. The breakfast was excellent and a lot of variety. Overall the staff made it an exceptional hotel.

It was an interesting experience to say the least as we needed a place to stay overnight and we chose it based on availability and parking. We didn't imagine it would be on one of the busiest streets in the town center. The parking was a bummer at first as there is a valet and you have to leave the keys, but I needed to go back and forth - luckily the receptionist was Romanian and she helped us with this issue. The rooms look a bit worn and do not give you the best impression, but it was clean enough and we could rest. The bathroom is small and the light is not so fine. General noise could be an issue for some. The personnel was fine and the person administrating the booking account seemed interested in our needs. Breakfast was fine for the price paid. Overall we felt good in the end and we could also visit the center.
