Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaVery small toilet.Very steep, sloped street made of old styled uneven bricks so it’s not easy to carry luggages or stroller up and down. This place is not easy to be accessed by taxi and taxi driver left us 15 minutes away from the location and it was terrible to carry luggage on the uneven street to this location. Ensure to have taxi dropped you at Gulhane station or Galhane Park entrance.
Location nearby main attraction and tram station. The host is extremely helpful and resolved our issues via booking.com messages.

AustraliaWish there were toiletries provided, as we did not bring any and had to find a store that sells them on first arrival after a long travel time. The bathroom was a little tight to move around in.
Very accessible place to stay. It backs up on to the remains of a castle. The Hagia Sophia just around the corner, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern an Archeological museum so close. The Sultanamet tram station is within walking distance too. Just like the other reviews, the beds had good quality matresses!!! Electric hot plate if you need to make some food and the apartment is spacious enough to relax. Restaurants are abundant and vitually on your doorstep! Our host was on call for anything we needed at all times. Airport transfers right to the door were so convenient as it is on a cobble stone sloping road.

United KingdomIt's a 2 bed apartment. It's not a 2 bedroom apartment. So basically, there's a bedroom with a king size bed. And the other bed is located in the lounge area. But that didn't affect the rating.
The location was perfect! In between Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace each being only 2 minute walks away. Shops, restaurants and the Spice Bazaar all walking distance from the place. The host went above and beyond for us. I was concerned about getting to the airport by 5am. He was at my door at 4.15am with a taxi too. Recommended to all.

NorwayKitchen tap was leaking, should be easy to fix. Bottled water in the room would have been nice. A special annoyance is that they don't take cards. Even night kiosks in Istanbul take cards now, for the tiniest of payments, so them not taking cards is a bit arrogant and disingenuous. The following text are not specifically things that we didn't like but more reflections on the stay that didn't fit in the booking.com text limitations for the positive comments. Taxi: it is objectively very hard for taxi drivers to get there because the apartment is literally in the heart of the most historic part of old city, between Aya Sofia and Topkapi Palace, under the palace wall. The streets are closed, one way, sometimes there are police cordons. Ask to be delivered to the entrance of Gulhane park/Museum of Archaeology and walk 50 m up the street, it’s the easiest way to get to the house. If want to be delivered right to the entrance, negotiate/set the fare beforehand, because they will likely have to do a few rounds to figure out how to get there. We succeeded but it's really not worth the trouble. Getting a taxi is really easy if you go down and walk 50 meters. There also is a tram stop close-by. We preferred walking because everything from there is a walking distance, even Grand Bazar and the Bosporus. All in all, it's a wonderful place with a few survivable drawbacks. It's probably smaller than the 55m2 they claim yet it's functional and we were overall happy, even with it's size. At the same time, a place like this is for people who can appreciate it. If you are a perfectionist, small challenges grate you and or if you have high standards and are looking for something perfect that feels like a shiny hotel room, then there is soulless Hilton in the building next door with its usual crowd of obnoxiously rich. Thankfully they don’t spoil the atmosphere, they are hiding themselves well.
The location is amazing: touristic but also calm and peaceful. The property itself is cozy, clean, well-kept and very atmospheric. We absolutely loved it. The building has several floors. The 2-bedroom apartment is on the 2nd floor, the others are higher. We stayed in 2-bedroom apartment. It’s small but functional. The apartment size is perfect for three people of the same family. There is a bedroom with double bed, a living room with a sofa, and a smaller bedroom with a single bed. Everything is clean and in good working order, and it feels super cozy inside. A limitation is that the entrance to the bathroom/shower is from the smaller bedroom, which might or might not be suitable to your group depending on who sleeps there. As a saving grace there is a toilet just outside the apartment, which is very convenient and feels as part of the apartment as nobody else lives on that floor. In terms of condition, it’s very good but not perfect of course. The bathroom inside the apartment is a bit tragic and the problem there is not so easy to fix as it seems to be due to condensate from the temperature difference with the outside – it didn’t seem like there was heating in the bathroom. On the other hand, the toilet just outside the apartment is nice and warm, so really the only problem is the shower. Housekeeping/ management. They are not in your face, which we really appreciated – we barely saw them at all, but you can message them and they were helpful on specific issues. I saw comments about smoke smell - the manager smoked outside and there were no odors during our stay. All, in all, it’s a perfect place for a small group if your expectations are right. You’ll be in historic city center. The building itself is typical of Sultanahmet, sandwiched to the palace wall, so it’s obviously older, smaller, without elevator, and the staircase is narrow. But that is its charm too. We really felt connected to the place when we were stating there.

United States1. Apartment was in bad shape and needs a lot of fixing, specially bathroom. 2. Management doesn’t care about guests at all, once they take your money they’ll never come back for house keeping. 3. Manager smokes inside building that makes apartment really smelly as well and unsafe for little children. 4. I would not recommend this place to anyone with family.
only good thing about this place was it’s location.
