I asked at the reception for someone to wash the floor, as there was one sticky spot but they didn't (maybe they didn't understand me, I don't know). I cleaned it up myself and all was fine. I really enjoyed my stay there.

The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was nice and there was a thick curtain for the late sleepers like me. It was quiet in the mornings, and the bed was very comfortable, with lots of pillows. I was surprised to learn there is a pool as I didn't pay attention to this when booking. The pool was warm and big enough for me (though I went swimming at 8am and swam alone). The location of the hotel is perfect on ~7 mins from the metro and 3 mins from the buses for the ITU. I liked the surroundings - lots of small shops and places to eat. It was safe enough to come back from the metro past 12.

There were homeless dogs close by and I don’t know why the city would not care for them. It was really sad

I keep staying here since years because of the hotel's very convenient location to metro, the Istanbul banking district and even to the airport, who is just a 30 minutes ride by taxi away. This time I particularly liked how the hotel management had used the time to work on past shortcomings. The lobby is now shining bright and makes an inviting impression. Some furniture was replaced by modern pieces and the bar is working in evening hours....and most important: the friendly and helpful staff is still around. I liked it a lot and I will certainly return to Bilek, whenever my path will take me to Istanbul again.

Nice place, flexible to meet the guests requirements. If the Jim starts to work early, 05:30 or they manage to have kind of controlled access, I think they will get more guests. In the area around there are many good places for lunch, diner and shopping as well.

The view from our room was horrible: looked like a rubbish dump, with suspicious men below. The location isn’t really close to any tourist attractions, so had to take 30 minute to an hour journeys for enjoyable things to do. Not many food options nearby. The WiFi only worked with some apps- e.g. didn’t work with the IOS weather app, or TikTok. There was ineffective air conditioning so the room would be way hotter than outside. At one point after we came home from a long day, the water out of the bathroom tap was bright yellow but did go away after a few minutes. They don’t provide an iron to your room, instead you have to go into a small room with an ironing board and an unreliable iron. This ironing room felt cramped.

Some of the staff were quite friendly. Others were straight-faced. We booked a standard room but got upgraded to a better room. Room was clean and beds were comfortable.
