Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe building itself is old and very, very noisy, even for me, and I don't usually mind. I could hear the people across the hall chatting in their room clearly enough to make out what they were talking about. There is also one room in particular, N.401, that has all the A/C units of the building outside the window, and it's insanely loud, but they moved us when we asked. There is double-pane glass but it doesn't seem to do anything for noise. The rooms look a lot more spacious in the pictures, but are actually quite cramped, which was a bit uncomfortable as a family of four adults. I think it'd be great for younger families or solo travellers/couples. The beds were also very short - for reference, I am 158cm and struggled, my sister who is a bit taller couldn't stretch her legs on the single bed. The bathroom door in our second room was also not properly hinged and you needed to lift it or hit it to be able to close it. Soap unit could get stuck, too. For some reason, the hot/cold water in the shower and sink is inverted. Overall, the age of the building really shows, and our impression was that the renovations were quite hasty and not thought out too well, style over substance. If you're looking for a comfortable, long stay, this is not a place I'd really recommend. If your intention is to have a base to rest sometimes and you don't mind noise at night or the occasional door you have to strong-arm in exchange for a great location, helpful staff, and a cheap price, it's great value for money.
Located in a great central spot of the old Istanbul, less than a 20min walk from all the main attractions, near plenty of restaurants and minimarkets. It's absolutely worth the stay, if only for the great location. Hospitality was definitely our favorite thing - when we had a problem with the first room, they offered to transfer us to another one without complaints, and the staff was always kind and helpful with all the questions we had. You can use both the room key and a keypad to enter, meaning anyone can leave and re-enter easily without having the physical key. There is parking nearby for 15€ a day, and the hotel staff can also help you find it and pay for it (they take EUR as well as TL). Nothing stood out as unclean, including the less-commonly used throw pillows and the cutlery. You also get plenty of towels and single-use slippers. The kitchen has an induction-heated stove, with all the kitchenware you'll need, as well as a fridge. Unfortunately the freezer we had seemed to not be able to freeze properly, but that's okay. Shower pressure was good and the temperature had plenty of range, including scalding hot! Overall it was a well-located, friendly place to stay.

United StatesA couple of things, the bathroom door doesn't shut easily. The door is off-hung to where it's leaning and leans against the door frame. Have to lift it to shut. Also very squeaky. The other thing I didn't like, was the stove top. Didn't work the time from first time. Used and abused. I had staff come up several times in the morning to get it to turn on.
Location walking distance to many tourist attractions, and close to the tramway.

GhanaIt's not a massive building, so there was no lift to take bags up and down. In this day and age, I think a smart TV will make this apartment really excellent for guests' entertainment. I also did not like that locals were ready to cash in on foreigners. so one has to learn to bargain and bargain to pay the real price for things.
The location is excellent. Staff members were always present and helpful, coming every day to pick up rubbish. The beds are so comfortable. Good lighting. Having shops very close by was a convenience.

UkraineMissing soap (only shower gel was provided), and there was no bottle of water on the bed. At the end of the day, when you get to your room, you kind of hope for a bottle of water — maybe even a small snack. But maybe that’s just me
Good room, overall I liked it a lot and it's great value for the price.

GermanyThe apartment was fine for 4 people. It was possible to cook using the kitchen. There are shops available in the area to buy food. Walkable distance to the historical city centre. It was a bit complicated to get there with the luggage, as the street goes up a hill.

GermanyThe souterrain room can get quite noisy at times because of the street noise and the fact that the cleaning room is next door. For me it wasn't a big problem but if you are noise sensitive keep it in mind. The Hotel offers an Airport Shuttle to IST for 60€ which I find very pricey compared to other options.
The Residences are located in Sultanahmet, just a couple of minutes walk from the Ayasophia and Blue Mosque. It is surrounded by numerous restaurants and cafes but keep in mind that it is a touristy area which others may like, others don't. You can also walk to the Çemberlitas tramway station from where you can easily connect to Karaköy. Hence, location wise it is an ideal place to explore the touristic parts of Istanbul. The room itself was clean and comfortable, everything was there even hairdryer and toiletries. Always when I went out I found my room cleaned and tidied up.

LatviaWe could hear the neighbors upstairs very well, almost every step on the floor, but we were lucky that they were quiet. :)
Everything was very good. We stayed in March, when the nights are still cold - the room was very warm and the heating worked. The kitchen was small, but well equipped enough to make simple meals or breakfast. The city center is within walking distance, the street next to the house was quiet.

United KingdomMy room had the following minor issues: - No temperature control on the radiators -- they are either very hot or cold. - The closet was not stable, it almost fell down a few times. Keep an eye on the kids. - The kitchen cold water faucet is located in such a way that it is impossible to turn on the cold water completely. - The toilet lid does not fit properly. - The hotel is in a low-lying area so it may be difficult for someone to get uphill.
- The hotel is located in a quiet location. - Easy access to the historic center, shops nearby. - Convenient access to the airport (12 minutes walk to M2, transfer to M11). - Although my bed didn't look comfortable from the outside, it was very comfortable to sleep on. The pillows were just the way I like them). - Daily housekeeping in the rooms. - There is a playground nearby.

United KingdomThere was a bit of confusion over access to the room, which wasn't ready when we were told it would be and there were no staff available to explain this to us. When we did find the staff they were very helpful.
This was a great location in the old town of Istanbul, very easy to walk to major attractions like Haggia Sofia and Blue Mosque. The facilities in the room were also decent.

FranceThe size of the room for 6 people was a bit stuffy with just one bathroom + toilet to share. But I would stay here again if travelling with fewer people.
The location was absolutely wonderful! You could see the sea from the streets nearby, walk to all the monuments in the area and even the grand mosque. Yet, the property managed to be in a quiet corner where you could getaway from the chaos of the touristy areas.

FranceThere is a kitchenette, unfortunately not equiped (no knifes, spoons etc.), so we could not even make a soup or drink a coffee with sugar. Asking for spoons ended in a "very direct" YOK. As well, the room was only maintained only once in 5 days (towls changed, bed arranged etc.).
Nice hotel, very near to the city center and all comodities and touristic sites, there were normal shops and restaurants around (no tourist traps), tram station can be reached within 10-15 min (uphill !) we had been lucky that our room was quite, towards the backyard, as the environment is quite crowdy, quite some traffic bathroom was tidy, beds were comfortable access via code worked very well
