Perhaps more choices for breakfast and some black out curtain for the rooms as it is quite bright. Can make your sleep more comfortable. Its not a deal breaker but would definitely be appreciated.

Akanthus is a very charming hotel that is centrally located. The rooms were well appointed and the whole place was taste fully decorated. The nice pool is a plus. Feels like staying in a sanctuary.

Parking is listed as a “featured amenity” but it is just street parking a short walk away. Hotel is at the end of a dead end alley so it is a bit confusing to drive there, and we had to drive in reverse out of the alley to park. Staff were helpful in navigating the situation, but I felt the listing was a bit misleading about parking on site.

The from was beautiful, had nice tiles in the bathroom and a reading nook by a window. Bed was a bit hard but still comfy, and AC worked great. Breakfast was very pleasant and outdoor seating area was lovely. Staff were very nice.

We felt very welcome, all staff very attentive and helpful. The pool area was relaxing and the breakfast superb. There is great attention to detail in the rooms, very authentic. Loved the complimentary cake and coffee.

When we arrived it was like the pictures came to life. Everything about this stay was wonderful. All of the staff were helpful and kind. They helped us book a tour of Ephesus and gave us great food recommendations. The sun sets right over the pool and it’s truly remarkable. The breakfast was filling and we could walk the town easily.

Brilliant reception staff. We arrived with only one of our suitcases, the other missing within the Turkish Airlines system. Baran was so helpful and reassuring and kept the pressure on the airline to locate and deliver as the missing suitcase had medication that was required.

Our stay at Akanthus was a dream! The facilities were absolutely beautiful, the staff very friendly, helpful, kind and welcoming, the rooms spacious, charming, updated and thoughtfully appointed, the food abundant and delicious, and the grounds were a little oasis. The ruins of Ephesus are close and easily accessible, and we had a short walk to a selection of wonderful local restaurants. This was possibly my most favorite accommodation I've had across any throughout Europe. Our family of four (two rooms next to each other) thoroughly enjoyed our time in Selcuk -- thank you Akanthus!

This place is serene, perfect resting place as it’s my last stop in Turkey. It’s 5 mins by taxi/12 mins walking from the train station, close to most restaurants in town. The staffs are very attentive, the room was bigger than pictured (she even gave me a free upgrade), and everyone tried to help me with all I need during my short stay. Will recommend anyone to come to Selcuk for Ephesus to choose here!

Akanthus is a small, intimate and tastefully appointed hotel. Beautifully landscaped, adorned by local flowers and plants, full of chirping birds. Our room, unexpectedly, turned out to be MAGIC : in thirty years of our travel, every now and then I have booked a room with a pool view, never was the experience special. In Akanthus, the large window of our room, opened directly on the pool, bringing the pool in, a delightful experience. A great deal of attention has been paid to every detail of the decor - from the key pouch to the colorful ceramic washbasin in the toilet. The ceramic border framed mirror reflecting a matching lamp brought Alladin to our room. Had a great time chatting with the manager on the local customs, plants and the family lives. Akanthus is a small hotel that serves only breakfast. BUT their hospitality acquired a special hue. Every day, a large home made cake is placed in the dining room along with hot tea and coffee for the guests to serve themselves with through the day. What a wonderful thought. Maybe an earlier breakfast could be catered for, given that Ephesus opens at 8am and temperatures climb rapidly during the day.

Boutique hotel which was tastefully furnished to reflect the local Turkish culture. Very helpful staff. At the time we were there, it was a very restful hotel to retreat to.
