Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOccasionally artistic design gets in the way of practicality. It was hard to wash your hands in the washbasin in the bathroom as the sink was teensy-weensy. It's a minor complaint amid a terrific stay.
A beautiful house in a great location in town. My room was comfy and quiet. Gérard was an excellent host, and I especially loved the attention to detail throughout the accommodation. Breakfast was lovely, and the selection of homemade jams was tasty and unique. No sooner had I asked Gérard how to close the door of my room quietly than he put a handle on to assist. Amazing!

Gerard is an excellent host making you feel at home and always available to assist or just have conversation. The breakfast was excellent and creative. The location in Erriadh is central for touring the island and walking Djerbahood. The house and our room were beautiful

United KingdomWe enjoyed Djerba, and felt welcome everywhere, but do remember that during Ramadan and particularly over the Eid Festival most restaurants etc are closed. The museums stayed open, and we could still travel around, but dinner in Dar Bibine was even more of a bonus than expected!
Excellent food for breakfast. Very much to our taste. Nothing was too much trouble for our host. We also had dinner at Dar Bibine more evenings than we ate out, and that was excellent too. Erriadh is not on the coast, but it is easy to get anywhere on the island from there using the cheap and easily found taxis. It does have marvellous and extensive street art which kept us pleasantly occupied. The world's oldest surviving Synagogue is a short walk away and worth visiting. The local people are very friendly. The town seemed very safe and hassle-free. If you want the beach, then an option that worked for us was to take a taxi across to

United KingdomGerard is a welcoming and thoughtful host who can offer dinner on request. Breakfasts are very good. Dar Bibine is a little haven in the village of Erriadh. Unfortunately we were there during Ramadan, not to be recommended as no restaurants open nearby. And card payments are not accepted at Dar Bibine, so some planning is required

A stunning place. Obviously a labor of love for its owner and host Gerard who applied his architect's knowledge and taste to rebuilding the structure and developing its interiors to an extremely high level. Breakfasts were excellent and I had one dinner (chef=Gerard) that was great. Room was a bit tight but otherwise excellent. Pricing very fair. In the middle of the Djerbahood area which is fun to be in. A terrific place at a very fair price.

United StatesIn room #3 the shower and toilet are together, so that might not be for everyone. It would also be great to have more flat space to put things on around the sink in #2 or somewhere in the shower to place things like soap/shampoo,
We really loved staying at this place. The owner was always available to help, his special breakfasts were amazing, he was always paying attention to little details, his staff was friendly, it was quiet, and the location was central.

CanadaThe wifi could be tricky sometimes but that's due to the thickness of the walls. The guesthouse has different routers and you could switch between them.
A real tribute to Djerba and its history. The place is simply wonderful and magical!Gérard the owner has put a lot of effort to preserve and respect Djerba's heritage and his love for the island shows in every detail. He takes the time to show you the place and explain every bit of it. The guest house is divided into two distinctive decors and blend perfectly together. One is and old Djerbian home style and the other a more contemporary style. The guesthouse is located in the heart of Erriadh, a typical local neighborhood where you are surrounded by Djerbahood wall art, small shops, and restaurants. Don't hesitate to go on the roof where the view is breathtaking and the Jasmines will rejuvenate you. Special thanks to the men and women working with Gerard and help him preserve the cleanness and authenticity of the place. Everyone was very accommodating and answered all our requests positively (extra pillows etc). Also HUGE bonus points for the breakfast which had different cutlery style every day and different type of eggs so you don't get bored, and all the jams were locally made. Highly recommended if you want an exclusive and intimate stay. Definitely unforgettable.

AustraliaWifi in my room was unreliable but that is due to the solid construction of the Dar (thick walls). I have found this throughout Tunisia and had an eSIM so could use 4G network to stay connected if needed. There is really little to fault about this beautiful property and the staff who run it.
Beautifully renovated Dar in the heart of Erriadh. Exquisite design details down to the tableware used for the daily breakfast. Gerard the host is extremely accommodating and relaxed. He went out of his way to assist me arranging a day trip as I am not fluent in French and was always available to help if needed. I had a beautiful room right next to the pool and spent some time relaxing in the peace and quiet. The breakfast was amazing and changed daily. Beautiful homemade condiments accompanied every meal. I ate more than I normally do and loved every bite!

BelgiumI really enjoyed my stay. Other travelers should note that in specific rooms, the bathroom is open-plan, so privacy is limited.
Lovely B&B with 5 rooms. Loved the small patio with the pool, as well as the rooftop terrace with sunbeds. Run by a caring host, who went above and beyond when he got up at 4:00 am to ensure that I would get a coffee before my early morning departure. What a service! Located in a wonderful small town, and right next to a tiny streetfood joint serving the tastiest snacks.

CanadaOnecaveat for some folks may be that - at least in our room - the bathroom and shower were integrated into the room as a whole (no door for privacy). Soundproofing was decent although definitely recommend sleeping a bit earlier - if you're a light sleeper - as you're in the centre of Erriadh.
This place is a true gem. Gerard is certainly the highlight. His hospitality was ever present and he has keenly created a unique and wonderful space. Breakfasts were wonderful and unique every morning. The rooms are all surrounding a central common area with a nice pool and chairs. There are many, many places to hang out with little patios and pockets throughout the property. The room had good AC and everything we needed. Wifi quite well, with a couple hiccups. It was easy to get cabs and essentials by walking down the street. Simply outside your door you can walk around the entire Djerbahood and explore all of the art on the streets. Highly recommended.

SloveniaColored lights in the central yard should be switched off during the night (we don't like any light sources while sleeping).
Very nice and informative host/owner. Excellent breakfast, different every day. Attentive in every detail. You get free water bottles for whole period. Appartmet and rooms are in old renovated house, keeping authentic way of living conditions. Therefore you have very basic room - don't expect stylish facilities from modern buildings. I.e. small/low doors, small windows, toilet and shower in the same room, etc. But there is plenty of space in several rooms which are available to all guests. Quiet neighbourhood. In the middle of Djerbahood where you shod be lost.
