Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandI was first given a small room which to be frank didn’t have enough room to even swing a cat. The manager did give me an upgrade but charged me extra this included breakfast but It was never communicated to me that it was only for a Standard breakfast and not a big breakfast so I order the big breakfast and then to my astonishment was charged extra when I check out. This left a very bad taste in my mouth which together with the unsized room in the first place made my experience not good at all.
Good location

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The view from our room was absolutely stunning — waking up to that every morning was a real highlight. The pool with the bar was brilliant and made for a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Breakfast each morning was generous and delicious, with plenty of variety to start the day right. We also had dinner at Paul's Restaurant during our stay, and the meals were massive and full of flavor. Overall, a great experience — highly recommend!

Czech RepublicWe did not like the fact that if you close the door, it locks - it was bad if one was sleeping and other was chilling on balcony - not possible to close the door and use AC at the same time, though we found some workarounds.
We had absolutely stunning breathtaking view, the place was great. Access to private rocky beach (after a lot of steps). The pool was great and the resort was very well maintained. We would be happy to come back.

United KingdomOur Cabana was a little dated and would be improved with a lick of paint but this did not impact on our time there. Don't let this put you off.
We had a great time at Top Resort. The 2 bedroom garden cabana was ideal for our party of three and very good value. The staff were great and the rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels provided and pool towels too. The breakfast was exceptional, the best we had in 6 weeks of travel in SE Asia. The pool was great with lovely views of the sea and the sunset and a reasonably priced pool bar.. If you want good value, great service and an excellent location Top Resort definitely delivers

CanadaLittle bit of trash in front of room that was.not picked up.
Great big room. Had 501 with a partial sea view. Bed was comfortable and big. Shower had good hot water and pressure. AC was quiet and worked well. Big area to sit outside your room with a table nice chairs.and a plug. In fact there are plugs everywhere. Has a mini bar and laundry service for 50 baht per Kg. Has a big flat screen tv with many english channels. Close to 7-11, beach access is about a 5 min walk. Close to many restaurants. The thing I really liked was how quiet it is at night and the pool is in the sun all day so it's warm. Has a cool walkway down to the rocky shore. If you get the sea view room it would be spectacular.

ThailandIt's not a negative point. The room looked a little dated. This is not a criticism, just an observation, and did not detract from my stay there.
The hotel and all the facilities were very good. The pool area has good, comfortable sunbeds and the pool is very clean and inviting. Staff are as always in Thailand excellent. The room was large and very comfortable with excellent facilities. Cleaned daily.

United StatesThis isn’t a 5 star resort, but it’s very nice for what it is, and a good value. My only complaint, if you want to call it that, is the “Captain Silver” cabana. (I believe that’s what it’s called.) We did not stay in it. I’m sure it’s nice. But its location is so very unfortunate. Directly between the pool and the ocean view. In fact it blocks 90% of the ocean view from the infinity pool, the pool bar, and the rest of the pool area. I understand the realities of having every possible rentable space, but if that cabana was razed and made into a sitting area with a fire pit… the pool area here would be epic. We would return every few years just to enjoy that.
It’s old but charming. We suggest spending some time wandering the grounds (which we rarely do at a hotel.) The meandering steps, and paths, lead to some beautiful little spaces. Much larger, and infinitely more charming than one would expect from the road. I suggest finding the tiny, rocky beach at sunset, or for morning coffee. 135 steps but worth it. The owner often works the counter. A nice German gentleman. Fluent enough in English that his humor even shines through. The Staff was wonderful. Friendly, and caring as you come to expect from the Thai people.

CanadaI didn’t like that when I had a shower the water wouldn’t turn off.
I liked that it felt like we were the only people at the resort . The staff was amazing at the front desk and the people at the restaurant were really nice and the breakfast was great with a view . The groundkeepers made the property look nice and it was great value for the money .

United StatesIt is such a shame that a wonderfully laid out property on a cliffside is also so close to Koh Chang’s busiest and noisiest road, As a consequence, our really nice apartment-style accommodation was never quiet enough for genuine rest and relaxation,
Great views of the sea. Nice pool. Outstanding layout of the apartment suite, and superior housekeeping service.

United KingdomBreakfast is not a buffet. You get a voucher for 150 Bht each to order from a set menu. If you want more than 1 cup of coffee egg and a toast, it will cost you extra. I'm not complaining. I'm just letting you know
Nice garden, nice and clean little swimming pool. a couple of days after we arrived, we upgraded to a bungalow with see view. We had a few issues with the room and when l mentioned it to the owner he apologised and said they new about it but with little money coming in during the last few years due to covid it will take them a bit longer to sort it all out. I understood but was still disappointed. To my surprise and delight, a couple of days later, the owner approached me and told me all that lv mentioned is going to arrive new in the next few days, and it certainly did. The reason l scored them 8 and not 10 is just because the room need more updating

RussiaSo sound proofing is non-existent, as you might expect from warm climate and thin walls. Our neighbors kept very strange hours. So I had to go ask them to keep it down during the night or early morning a couple of times. Breakfast is meh. There some Thai and some German dishes which is a bit of weird mix. And also basic fried eggs and cereals. It gets the job done, but without much joy. Also not much options for vegetarians, let alone vegans. You're probably better off skipping it and going to one of the local cafes. Pools seemed a bit small, more for soaking then swimming. But we never used it anyway.
So overall the resort is great, it looks a bit shabby from the road, but once you get inside it's actually very nice. The room is decent, very clean, comfy firm beds, there are some drinks in the mini bar, staff is nice and helpful. The view from our room was spectacular, I would highly recommend getting a sea view room. The roadside building should probably be avoided. A great long sandy beach is 10 minute walk away. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. And you can actually walk around the neighborhood, which is not always the case with Chang.
