Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesBreakfast was repetitive. Everything was the same for the 4 days we were there. A few changes everyday will be nice.
The property was excellent. Everything was good about it. Excellent pools, staff, facilities, food... The beach was just behind the property and there are amny shops and eateries along the road behind.

United KingdomNothing… it really is effortlessly nice.
The hotel is an absolute “experience”. Very nuanced and bespoke. Having stayed in multiple 5* hotels from resorts to boutiques around the world, The Slate meets all the default criteria (great breakfast, clean, wonderful staff and luxurious)… but there are extra aspects at The Slate which make this hotel exceptional, different and unique. The “slate”, “raw” theme is beautifully set in lush green surroundings. During our stay it was cloudy and rainy and it ended up being perfect for the theme of this place. The pools are divine and picturesque. The room showers were particularly interesting and very inviting!

Australia-Quality of sea water, even I realise it is not a hotel's responsibility. Even there were not big waves, the sea water was murky. Not sure if it is a seasonal or not, we were there in August. In addition, there was plastic rubbish in the water and on the beach, even I believe the beach is cleaned daily. Sadly, plastic pollution is very common around Phuket nowdays. -A lot of mosquitoes at evenings, however the hotel supplies at-mosquitoes stuff. - The funny fans at outdoor sitting area in our suit. They look like giant round fans. I realise they are a part of the hotel industrial designer consept, but they are not effective at all. An ordinary modern electric fan would be more effective.
Absolutely loved bedding and bath towels, they felt so soft and luxurious. Alsp we liked the fact that the territory of the hotel is turned into a green garden, , contrary to many moderns hotels which build in as many new units on their territory not leaving land for greenery. Sea and the beach are very close, just a few steps from a back gate. Breakfasts and food served were of good quality. Staff are pofessional and efficient. We liked each minute we spent in the hotel.

New ZealandThe things we found only slightly annoying were: 1. every time we tried to go to the bar and have a drink/play a game of snooker, it was full of little kids taking up the tables and never seeming to move on. 2. Neighbouring villas dragging chairs on the concrete floor is like screeching nails on blackboard, the heavy doors, when slammed vibrate through the villa.
All of it, the staff at the restaurant and spa facilities, were amazing and friendly without being intrusive. The breakfast was delicious with a very good range, the spa facilities were perfect. The pools were great, as was our room. The parklike facilities and naturalness of the surrounds were exactly what we were looking for. Fon escorted us on the morning monk walk, and we enjoyed learning everything we could from her. She and our driver made this experience for us an absolute pleasure and very comfortable - thank you.

United KingdomNot much to dislike at all, only thing is not enough hanging places in the room for towels/swimwear/etc.
Rooms very nice, great wifi, great aircon. Public beach next to the hotel is very nice with plenty of small restaurants/street food. Swimming pools and overall facilities very nice. Overall design of the hotel is really cool, a lot of attention to detail in the aesthetics.

AustraliaThe booked restaurants were underwhelming and overpriced for mediocre quality. Black ginger was a much better experience, which we enjoyed, than Rivet which completely missed the mark. Poor food, slow. We feel these were pushed on us by the hotel which claimed they book out early and we needed to be quick however neither were close to capacity when we dined.
Staff great and overall facilities great.

United Arab EmiratesI only request one thing: to offer to leave kids under 4 years old with babysitter at the kids play this will be a wish come true. As children under 4 should be with parents. Even if you make it as chargeable option to pay for hourly babysitter services.
Most relaxing hotel was above expectation. Super friendly staff. Was very comfortable 1 night stay before travel. Hotel themed in a very mechanical design, which is very eye catching and interesting. Will visit again definitely. Thank you all staff for making it a pleasant stay for us. 1) Hotel has great awareness about celiac disease offers selection of gluten free foods. 2) hotel prepared mini gifts for our kids was so nice. 3) we were giving free drinks token at check in that we used in the restaurant. 4)hotel allowed us to check out at 5:00 pm with no extra charge, As our flight was late. Restaurant food is soo yummy. Hotel has beach access and many other activities that we missed due to tight timing.
