Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location is a bit far from the town to walk with a young kid but they have a free shuttle. we actually liked it because the town is nothing special and we anyway travelled in the nature around it. Some loud music comes from a nearby club but it's not their fault. inside the room it was fine, but too loud on the balcony. On the last day of our stay, the air conditioner died in the middle of the night. it was very hot and we couldn't sleep. they came right away but were not able to fix it and brought us a fan. the person who did his best to help wasn't able to move us to another room. They apologized in the morning. Beside this everything was perfect.
The staff is amazingly sweet and try to make sure your stay is no less than perfect. They were extremely sweet to our kid. the place is beautiful, the room is large, the pool is great and the kayak is a lot of fun

Had a wonderful time! The atmosphere is great, the staff was super nice, breakfast is very tasty and there's a large variety of food & drinks. The rooms are very spacious, with small balcony to relax. There's a nice pool and a small gym, that fits our needs. There's an option for renting a van with a driver that took us anywhere we wanted.

Location - free shuttle busses to Pai just 4 minutes away was great. Nice, comfy and clean rooms. A beautiful place to stay and relax the quirkiness really stands out. The free breakfast was great and they can also arrange transport from Chiang Mai to Pai and back at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

United KingdomThe hotel staff phoned our room at 7:50am to apologise for the noise from our neighbours. We didn't hear the noise and it was reception that woke us up with the world's loudest telephone. Please don't phone guests so early when they are on holiday 😂 Alsooo I think with the high price that the rooms should have smart TV with Netflix/youtube to watch when we get home in the evening. Much cheaper hotels have that.
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! Chilling out by the pool was so peaceful, it really is paradise. I also really enjoyed the gym with the view!! The rooms were large and comfortable. The restaurant does good food. They have a fantastic, puntual shuttle bus service every hour until midnight. Great breakfast selection!

United StatesThis is just a little thing … the resort is only 8 years old but in places around the property it looked tired or empty (hallway to bathroom in pool area where there is actually no bathroom and just cavernous opens spaces). Not sure what’s going on there. Also fresh coat of paint or some attention to exterior details (maintenance tools exposed: hanging ladders, bucket over weird pylon, etc) would perk the place up a bit.
Great and warm room (it was cold at night) when we were there. Interesting design with its canal. Loved the morning floating fruit boat and egg station on a boat. Staff was very friendly. Fitness center has wonderful view of white Buddha. And it’s Proximity to Paradise pai circus and Pai cookery school was fantastic (do both!)

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing, we loved it. My partner did find the bed mattress a little bit hard but it was fine and manageable.
What an incredible hotel. The Santorini feel was unusual but really nice. We loved everything about it - the attention to detail, full of lots of snugs and spots to chill out, kayaking to breakfast (or anytime really), the pool, the views, the incredibly friendly staff, the hourly shuttle to the town centre, it was all brilliant. We especially loved the fruit arriving by boat in the morning, then the breakfast was incredible, best breakfast we’ve ever had, better curries and pad Thai than some restaurants!

IsraelAlthough an overall excellent experience, they do have aspects in which they can improve - the food at the restaurant (regular menu, not breakfast) is underwhelming , the coffee is not good - things that can be easily improved.
This was a big surprise. At first sight on booking, it seemed odd to see the fruit boat and understand how the hotel is built. In real life, it is even stranger but in the most charming way. This hotel has the best team we've met so far in Thailand. Everybody was so nice and helpful. But it was mire than that - they really tried to communicate and make our stay pleasant and memorable. I think that my daughters will never forget this hotel, the fruit boat, the greek design, the kayaks, and the most generous breakfast we've seen.
