How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewAt the arrival we received a nice welcome drink and we also got upgraded to a bigger room. The room was exceptional, loved the style and the fact that the staff was every night providing a little tale. Breakfast was fabulous, staff was gentle and friendly. Highly recommended!
Everything was great, perhaps the toilet seat was not particularly stable.

Verified reviewYou can tell that a lot of thought and care goes into maintaining this hotel so that every guest feels like a VIP. - Careful touches to the room made it feel luxurious. - Room was huge with great amenities and personal touch so you feel well taken care of. - Friendly staff that make you feel welcome the moment you enter. - Pool/surroundings were lovely This is the first place I’ve stayed that I can 100% say you get value for your money. I would love to stay here again!
One male staff member in the lobby (he was mainly standing by the front desk during breakfast) kept staring at me. It made me uncomfortable when I just wanted to enjoy my breakfast in peace. I think all staff should be culturally and ethnically aware so they don’t stare at guests who look different than them. He was the only one who did it. The rest of the staff, especially my check-in the day before was perfect. Professional staff who explained everything to me when he brought me to my room and friendly smiles from the women.

Verified reviewHotel Sensai was the best hotel we stayed in during our travels around Thailand. The staff go above and beyond here! Upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely welcome drink and were told our room had been upgraded. The room was absolutely amazing! The pool is heated and so nice for relaxing. The breakfast as well as the lunch/dinner food here is incredible. The location of the hotel is also perfect. You can walk to many things and both tours we booked, picked us up right in the hotel lobby. I can't recommend Hotel Sensai enough!

Verified reviewHotel Sensai is 10/10 we had a swim in room which was fantastic with its own little jacuzzi, joined to the pool. The pool is heated just right so very pleasant to swim in. The all you can eat à la carte breakfast is excellent in which you can sit out by the pool. We also used room service and the bar which were both good. We enjoyed the happy hour at the bar and the cocktails were delicious Kotetsu will make you any cocktail not on the menu we went with a spicy margarita. The room is a great size and clean. We had a turn down service every night with a small gift which is a lovely touch. The hotel itself is in a great location with lots of food choices and some really great coffee shops. I would recommend Hotel Sensai to anyone looking for a great hotel in a great location in Ghiang Mai. I can’t wait to come back and stay again.
The only problem we had was the temperature in the shower going hot to cold so you were always needing to adjust the tap.

From the delicious welcome cocktail over the small gifts with traditional stories they bring to your room every evening to the wonderful pool and breakfast, you truly get a five star experience. Restaurant and bar are both extraordinary and definitely worth the slightly higher prices. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and provide everything you could possibly need including some complimentary snacks and drinks. I would definitely recommend staying in one of the rooms with pool access.
At night bars and cars from the adjacent street can be heard as well as an occasional plane. Additionally the hotel plays lounge music in the Café/ Pool area which can be heard in the rooms. However, most noice stops at midnight and earplugs are provided in your room.

The staff is very kind, and breakfast is à la carte, which is better than what you'll find in some restaurants. The room is fantastic, offering a proper 5-star experience. Verified reviewHotel Sensai is a place that strives for perfection in every minor detail and comes pretty close to achieving it. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Chiang Mai. The neighborhood is full of things to do for tourists and everything is within walking distance.
The downside of a very central location is the noise. Sounds from a neighboring bar kept me up for a couple of nights. Everywhere in Nimman, you can hear the airplanes due to the proximity of the airport. But this is not the fault of the hotel and affects all Nimman properties to some extent.
