Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn’t like - it even pleased the teenagers.
The staff were exceptionally polite, helpful and went above and above and beyond to ensure that our stay went well, including celebrating our teenage daughter’s birthday with us. The resort itself is stunning with lovely grounds and two beautiful pools. The breakfast restaurant and view is exceptional. We stayed in a pool villa, which was beautifully secluded, clean and restful. The location is very tranquil and away from the main road. If you need to get in to the shops and restaurants on the main road this is easily done by hotel transport, songthaew taxi or by a 15 minute walk, with added bonus of macaque spotting along the way.

United KingdomNothing - although I'm not sure what it what it would be like without a car.
This is a kind of resort Hotel. We had a villa with a small private pool outside. From there it was a very short walk to the beach. There is a restaurant on site and you can sit by the beach and be served. Probably not great for swimming because the tide comes right up to the wall at some times during the day. Everything definitely has a luxury feel about it.

United KingdomThe room looked very nice but was getting a little 'tired' with worn bathroom fittings and poor water pressure. Very limited selection of beers in the restaurant - mainly the usual Thai lagers which was disappointing for a top quality hotel.
Excellent hotel and facilties. Swimming pool was fantastic as was the beach which was next to the pool. Restaurant was excellent too serving very good Thai and Western food at very reasonable prices including a generous food, drinks and spa allowance within the basic price. Staff were particularly friendly and attentive.

IsraelOnly criticism- music in the location. Live music in the breakfast a bit too demanding. Music in the spa repetitive. I’d continue the soft and traditional music line but more varied. The food in the beach restaurant could be improved.

SwitzerlandSometimes the information given by staff wasn't the most up to date or of the quality that I would prefer. Whilst I believe that sometimes this was because of communication issues related to language misunderstandings, I feel that a little more effort in training would help the staff appreciate the importance of accurate information. Place needs a bit of a face lift, although it did seem to be happening whilst I was there
Great service and, albeit a little run down, facilities in a great area and location

NorwayOnly thing that comes to mind is that the juices for breakfast was just the ordinary SEA thing that is basically water with flavour. Otherwise 10/10.
Fantastic stay. We're here 10 days as a family of 5. Loved, loved the swimmingpools and the breakfast. My God.. peace of heaven. And exceptional value when put of season. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Fantastic staff.. all over.. both reception, restaurant, gardeners and household.

United KingdomThis is not near the main road and lacks local restaurants/shops. They do provide a shuffle bus but you need to stick to these times. Their restaurant is limited but food was well presented. The main issue for me is this site is very dated, we was in low season and they were doing work but the rooms, buildings and fittings very old.
If you like traditional Thai style feel this is great, the grounds are well kept and the main building is very unusual. The pool and beach are are great. Breakfast was okay but the views made it even better.

United StatesThere were two big negatives and one little one... but please understand, we loved the place and service. (1) The dinner menu was limited. There was some delicious food, and each evening the restaurant was our chosen place to eat. So, that's the good part. However, the lobster soup was really bad, tasting like spoiled sea creatures on the beach. (2) The in-suite pool was an amazing attribute of the room we were in. However, the water was very acidic, causing substantial eye irritation after just two short laps (20 seconds total) swimming under water with eyes open. It took me 3 minutes of flushing my eyes with bottled water to reduce the pain, and another couple minutes to stop the irritation. Another guest's son swam under water, and he had severe ear pain, sending the boy to the hospital. I discussed the situation with the boy's father; he agreed that the pool was far too acidic and might have caused the problem with his boy's ear. A minor negative: when the intense rain hit, by the time dinner was finished, there was minor flooding along the walkway between the restaurant and the hotel room as we walked through the garden. It was intense rain, so what can we expect? It might be possible to build up the walkway. Normally, the two big negatives would yield a negative review. However, everything else was exceptional. My fiancé and I agree that Santhiya is exceptionally good. We want to return. (FYI, the other guest--whose boy suffered, and the boy, too--agree that the resort is spectacular.) These are two things the resort can fix, and the staff indicated that action was being taken. When fixed, this resort will rank highest among all the places I have stayed in my lifetime. We highly recommend the Santhiya Tree resort.
The room was out-of-this-world awesome, much nicer than expected. The resort gardens, the check-in lobby, the breakfast restaurant physical setting (such as the view) and food were amazing, as was the staff's service in every aspect. We awakened each day and went to the in-suite pool and then hot tub, and we enjoyed being rained in (bad weather = good experience), and we enjoyed the good weather days (good weather also = good experience). I actually have never enjoyed being rained in more than at Santhiya. It just makes you want to sit and watch and listen, talk, dance a little in the room. The bathrooms and main room, the open-air restaurant, the breakfast dining area, the gardens, all were clean, extremely so. We enjoyed the wood sculptures and general decor... all helping to make a unique resort experience. My fiancé and I went there for a romantic setting, and wow, it was that.

South AfricaEverything was great - the on-site restaurant is very expensive, though.
From check-in to upgrading our accommodation, everything was perfect. This resort is utterly beautiful. The rooms are huge and beautifully furnished. Restaurants and little shops are a 12 min walk away. One can book excursions from a little travel place very close by. However, we rented a scooter and rode all over the island. The pool area is stunning. The resort is right on the beach.

IsraelWell, to be honest,I think all place is a bit neglected. They must renovate some of the room. At least to clean the mold from the outdone dors and made them closed properly. I visited santhiya koh pangan, and it's in better shape. When you design such a beautiful hotel ,you must take in consider how to keep it in good shape for years.
I liked the hotel atmosphere and this traditional design. I loved the garden, the pool, and the room with the pool inside, all were remarkable plan and. Design..
