Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaBooking through Booking.com was confirmed in app and via email to me, but when we arrived at the hotel, after 4 hours of driving, the hotel had no booking for me and denied a booking was made, they didn't have any record of the booking... We got the 3 rooms, but it took an hour to sort out the mess... Seems a bit pointless booking when the systems fail like this... I will see if this gets treated fairly, it was our experience, but after a couple of years, I am now very skeptical of booking dot com, you curate your reviews which often makes them sound better than they actually are, take the criticism as constructive, but frankly I'm not at all impressed with the rating system on booking dot com... I have yet to stay at any hotel that meets the lofty ratings you give to hotels...
Hotel and amenities were fine...

United KingdomIt is in serious need of updating. It's very shabby! Everything from light fittings to carpets needs renewing. I hope it gets the makeover it needs or it will surely close down. Its a wonderful building and the hotel lobby really is a stunning space
The swimming pool is awesome! The staff at reception were really nice too.

Hong KongI would prefer a little more variety for breakfast but adequate. Not worth the extra 250Baht per night but just about OK
Location was easy access by car once you know the roads. Swimming pool was my main reason to choose this hotel. Pool was very good attraction. Other facilities nearby such as laundry, restaurants and hypermarket nearby.. so good

AustraliaChecking out 😢
From the moment I arrived, the Rimpao Hotel impressed me with its genuinely welcoming and professional front desk staff. Their smiles and efficiency made check-in a breeze. The housekeeping team deserves a special mention too; my room was always impeccably clean, and the cleaner's cheerful demeanor was a lovely touch. The hotel's breakfast and restaurant were definite highlights, thanks to the wonderful host and talented cook. It's clear they take pride in what they offer. The pool provided a welcome opportunity to relax. Location-wise, the hotel strikes a great balance. Situated on the edge of the city, it offers quick and easy access to Kalasin's center, as well as the vibrant night and fresh food markets. Plus, its proximity to major roads makes exploring nearby areas like Sakon Nakhon and Roi Et, and accessing sightseeing spots, very convenient. Kalasin itself is a medium-sized city brimming with the most genuinely kind people – a real pleasure to experience. The hotel's location is also ideal for enjoying local life, with a beautiful ornamental lake, park, and delicious local cuisine just a pleasant five-minute walk away. The quiet setting of the hotel ensured peaceful nights, occasionally punctuated by the charming sounds of roosters in the morning and the serene blessing of the monks' chants. It truly added to the authentic feel of the stay. Leaving the Rimpao Hotel felt like saying goodbye to friends. I'm already looking forward to the possibility of returning soon.

United KingdomNo ‘bum gun’ in the toilet. Very bad! No flexible shower hose. Hard beds. Swimming pool used by loud swimming teacher shouting at the children so no peace and quiet for the guests
I guess it is all you can expect from a hotel in a small provincial town.

United KingdomThere was no porter to greet us. There was a mix up with the paid breakfast which they said wasn't included which it was. The bathrooms need replacing. Needs new carpets and decorating. Needs new car parking covers. There was a cover on a pipe in the swimming pool missing and a boy staying with us cut his foot on it.
We've been staying at this hotel for nearly 20years. I love this hotel but it is in dire need of refurbishment. Nothing has been done to it for years. It used to have a lot of facilities ie 2x nightclubs, massage. It has gone downhill and needs a lot of money spent on it. The rooms are nice and big and the pool is nice.

MalaysiaThere was humidity in the bedroom and in the bathroom, mold could be observed on the walls. Mold can have a negative impact on health. Better amenities, such as a coffee machine for fresh coffee and access to fresh milk, as well as a wider variety of food options, would be appreciated.

United StatesThe central A/C pumped insecticide into my room (really!). They were treating pests in the kitchen and somehow it got into the A/C too. Construction noises disturbed my rest and my breakfast. I had to change hotels to avoid being poisoned.
When the kitchen was closed, the breakfast was not as good as it once was.
