Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHuge disadvantage for me is that you are unable to open windows or balcony doors to let some air in. Makes you feel like you are in prison. Constantly surrounded by signs telling you what is disallowed and what's the fine for doing it. I didn't even use the swimming pool worried that my swimming pants don't meet hotel prerequisites
Very clean and good value

BulgariaFirst time after 15 year problem with reservation from Booking. Finally the found it and we were accommodated. The other didn't like is not opening windows. There is no any changes for oxygen to go inside. You can open the door, but the corridor is also closed from outside. The bed and pillows are very hard and not comfortable.
Stuff is great. The room is big and clean. Just 500 meters from Subway going to many sity sightseeings.

IrelandOn the first night of our stay, a woman was attacked by a man in the room beside ours. There was extensive screaming, banging, and a physical assault on the woman occurred. We rang reception repeatedly during the attack to try and get help, there was no answer. Eventually, someone from the hotel came up to the hallway and brought the man outside and the police arrived. The following morning, after going to reception to discuss the incident, the hotel manager reported that they let the man and woman back into the hotel to continue their stay and that they would stay a further 3 nights. Following this, I asked for a refund for the remainder of our stay due to this. The hotel refused this and said that they would upgrade our room away from the people who were involved in the fight. We took this however the room they gave us was not an upgrade and had several black hairs in the bed and on the floor. We have escalated this and are speaking to booking.com now regarding this as hotel customer service was so poor. This is not a safe place to stay. Staff do not have any regard for the safety of their customers. Avoid at all costs.

RussiaThe aroma was really bad in the room. As I’m a non smoker person I could smell the cigarette’s smell when I just entered the room. Probably it’s because of Chinese tourists who stay in this hotel a lot. I know they smoke so much and they usually don’t care about others and rules. Beside this point the hotel is really nice. And once we killed the cockroach on the table. I hope it’s rear there
The location is pretty good. Not that far from the metro. The interior is good looking, modern. The staff is willing to help.

Taiwan1. The hotel introduction informed the room fare has included toiletries, unfortunately, what they have are just toilet paper, shampoos, bath gel, shower cap when we arrive. That’s all. I suggested the front desk(check in reception) old auntie they’d better change their hotel introductions to remind their guests that they do not supply toothbrushes, toothpaste, razor so guests could prepare by themselves. Unfortunately, the front desk old auntie just ignored my suggestions and was quite unfriendly while staying this hotel for totally 4 night. What we can do was just go out to look for toothbrushes & toothpaste. It’ll be extremely crazy if we look for these stuff in midnight… 2. We reserved a king size bedroom as we have two people staying for 4 nights. However, they provided only 1 key card and saying extra 500 THB deposit required for extra key card. That’s unreasonable since two of us might have different schedules. What most other hotels do is just remind guests that they’ll charge them if they lost the key card. 3. There’s water leaking from their air conditioning during midnight. That’s really troublesome as your room might become swimming pools if you didn’t discover such issues. To be serious, risk of electric shock might happen in such situation if clients never aware such water leaking from the air conditioner as they’re sleeping. 4. You can see penalty notices everywhere. It’s interesting that the hotel treats their guests just like kids lol. 5. Poor WiFi connection.
1. The room is clean and big enough. One of the young lady at the front desk (reception lobby) is nice. 2. The hotel waiter is super friendly and humorous. Thank you for helping us look for a taxi.

LaosTook the room with a balcony, but it was impossible to open, manager said we can not use it. No smoking area at least in 300m. No soap in the room, no rug for shower. Unexpectedly asked 1000 baht deposit, what sounds weird for the 4-star hotel. Construction site opposite of the hotel. Electricity outlets didn’t work (personal fixed it after. But when you just come after long trip and want to charge your phone it’s inconvenient). Personal wasn’t able to help with wi-fi, had to go to reception for it.
Clean, big rooms, comfortable beds.
