How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had an amazing balconied hut overlooking the bridge and moored long tailed boats in the Mangroves. Best bar a restaurant next door. Lots of great beaches within walking distance or short Tuk Tuk ride.

Verified reviewI didn't like it at all and unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it.
It's a shame that the hotel staff didn't write down that a boat was supposed to pick us up. They charged us 700 baht, not including the price they charged for the rooms. I don't understand why they write that they are a 3-star hotel when in reality it looks like a hotel. I would give it one star.

Verified reviewTuna and family/staff were the best: very friendly and helpful, always with a smile. Breakfast was superb. Perfect location in Phi Phi to avoid the parties and have a more real interaction with locals. The tiny village has 3-4 restaurants, 3-4 bars and convenience stores, everything you need. Walking distance to three beaches (Nui Bay was extra beautiful). Don’t expect luxury, you are in the middle of the jungle, but the room has everything you need for a few days.

Verified reviewMr Tuna is a very nice man and makes you really feel at home. The view from our room on the bridge was great!
The rooms need renovation. But you are on Phi Phi and just need a bed and airconditioning.

Verified reviewMr Tuna was extremely kind and we enjoyed our interactions with him.
The restaurant was closed, which was the reason we had come as my wife really wanted to take a cooking class. The listing should be updated that the restaurant is no longer there, as its shown prominently in the hotel listing. While the AC worked and the bed sheets were clean, the room itself was in rough condition with rust showing through paint, holes in the ceiling, and crumbling sheetrock in lower sections of the walls. You also need to pay a lot for a long tail boat to take you 15 minutes, as there is no other way to get there. I think that the price did not reflect the general state of the hotel.

Verified reviewThe hosts were very helpful, they organized a long tail boat to pick us from the harbor. Price was good compared to other available places.
The room and especially bathroom were not in good shape. Windows are not tight, so there are insects, centipedes, frogs, lizards,... coming in. In the bathroom, there were larvae, some of them popped already. Bathroom shower was really terrible, toilet is right next to shower, so you make it wet every time you shower. The location is detached from the main area, which would be good, but there are mangroves, you don't see the ocean at all from your room. It's quite slum like. If you want to escape to somewhere else on the island, you have to go by boat which is 700 THB a trip or twice as much if past 6 pm or before 6 am. Worst accommodation we had in Thailand unfortunately. We left one day earlier to go somewhere else. Phi Phi was not good at all, only upside is, that you can go for beach island trips later as you are closer to them. Overall we didn't like the place at all, would not come to Phi phi at all.

Verified reviewI had an amazing stay! Tuna, the host, is incredible always happy to offer a massage and provide top-notch hospitality. The cabins are quiet, well-maintained, and equipped with excellent air conditioning, making them very comfortable. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the beach where I enjoyed snorkeling. Breakfast was included on my first day, and I loved the local dishes served. The staff are exceptional friendly, honest, and genuinely dedicated to making your stay enjoyable. You definitely get great value for your money here. The only thing to note is that there’s a fee for the boat taxi to the main beach, which costs 1,400. Other than that, this is a peaceful and charming spot with wonderful hosts and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewNothing, I never arrived because they didn’t answer me anymore and once I got to PhiPhi I had to book another hotel for Krabi because they stopped answering in the chat. I’m waiting for the refund.
I’ve never seen her because they never came to the appointment. They also want 1400 extra baths to take you and bring you back on the boat and YOU CAN’T GET OTHERWISE.

Verified reviewSimple accommodation at an affordable price. Cabins are super clean, large bed, excellent ac and modest breakfast included (order the pancakes with tea). The biggest highlight is Mr. Tuna himself. His hospitality and welcoming energy made the stay worthwhile. For added convenience, add their transport offer from the Phi Phi ferry for just 700 baht per group (up to 5 guests), ensuring an easy arrival.
