How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It is a little far from the main end of Chaweng but easy access to the beach still.
The beds were comfortable. It was a spacious room and the owner is very friendly. She arranged an amazing trip for us as well. Her attention to detail made this an amazing stay.

For people who are a bit older or not mobile, it might be inconvenient that there are only stairs. For me it was no problem :)
I had a lovely warm welcome with Penzy, felt right at home as a women and solo traveling and felt like my mom Penzy took care of everything. The room was clean and had everything that’s necessary. It’s not so new but it doesn’t matter and the location is perfect, i could walk nearby close restaurants and bars and of course the beach!

Pillow was too firm for me but that’s just personal preference .
All staff really friendly. The owner was really helpful and chatty and made our stay , helping us when our transport for a trip we had organised ourselves had not arrived. We would have missed the boat but for her. We were also given another key so that the fridge remained on , we didn’t even have to ask . Location was great , short walk to centre of Chaweng, lovely breakfast place just around the corner .

Staff are nice, and location is acceptable, but they don't even provide shampoo to get shower, even don't provide water to drink in the room ( bottled water) The most disappointing point is the stairs of this guest house, very tight and sharp we had too much problem to take our baggage to the room

The room available didn’t suit us. There was no lift and the final flight of stairs was extremely steep which for older folk like us and in the heat was a struggle.
It was very central. If you need to access bars and restaurants in Choweng it’s ideal. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. When we opted to check out early they continued to be helpful and gave us a refund without any quibbling.

Only downside is location if you’re not comfortable to ride a bike like me but grab is your best friend so didn’t matter to much😁
Staff were great got me whatever I needed and was so easy to talk to through WhatsApp also the place was very clean and spacious.

Horridly uncomfortable bed, springs dig in, very hard and bad for our backs. Towels were threadbare and discoloured, bath/shower combo felt like you'd fall through the floor, poor water pressure, terribly steep staircase with odd size stairs. Overpriced for what you get. Gaps around door so mosquitoes come inside.

Staff are more amazing than any other place. Very friendly and helpful. Will make calls for you to organize snorkelling tours, etc. Taxi drivers know this place by name. Super comfortable.

Great location and very comfortable. Penzy and staff all very friendly and welcoming and helped us with transfers and motorbike. We enjoyed our stay here for 2 nights :)
