Such a peaceful place hosts were great motorbike hire on site so very easy and safe and such a lovely guard dog which we spoilt with treats from 7 eleven 😀

Good layout of the room: the bedroom is a separate room. There was a separate summer kitchen with good coffee on the territory. Beautiful green area near the bungalow. Nice owner and staff. The nearest beach is very good.

Absolutely Nothing

A lovely three days at Peter’s Cottages would have stopped longer but he was full up! Clean large bungalow free water nice veranda and toast and coffee in the morning.A great chilled host and lovely staff. Helped organise a scooter for us and even invited us to his birthday bash at a nearby bar one evening. 2 minutes walk to town and 10/15 minutes to a lovely beach with 4/5 great restaurants with sun beds. Thank you again Peter for being a great host.

The bad smell coming from the bathroom shower drain. A simple bag of water on top helped, but of course we prefer to not have to do that :)

I really liked the information about the island we got at the start! Also the beach games we could just take for the day which was superb and the welcome drink and free laundry and coffee was also so so nice!

Peter and his staff have been so kind and helpful, water always available in the room, a coffee was always waiting for me while I woke up (even if late ...). Perfectly located if you want to enjoy beach life and the sea (5 minutes walking). Room clean, comfortable bed, wi-fi always available... I would definitely recommend for those travellers who don't need more than necessary, looking for rest and simple life. Thanks for everything!

The super clean room, which was cleaned every day. Simply furnished, but plenty of storage for clothes. Everything we needed was there. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Location convenient for beach and main shopping road.

Perhaps switching to bigger water bottles would be better to generate less plastic waste.

Great location, beach and restaurants are a short walk away. The bungalow was simple, but spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Free water provided.

Actually this is not a minus for Papaya Cottage. But the closest beach is a bit shallow and there is some sharp reefs under the water, so be careful in there. Go above the river to north about 200m, it's way better. Or If you have a scooter, the forest beach at the south end rocks! Use the mosquito repellent after sunset.

Really nice place, close to the road but still quiet during the night. Clean (everyday) and almost everything works. You can have free toast and there was boiled eggs during the morning as well. There are two local lady at the yard during the day, they can fix everything you need. A scooter, a snorkling trip etc. whit a good price, go with them. If i go to Chang again, i will stay here. Peter, the owner is great dude even that he is from Sweden. Thanks for everything Peter, but still the Santa is from Finland and Finnish play better hockey than Swedish.

In room 7 there was a smell from the sink and shower pipes.à when we arrived, and that was cleaned when we notified the host. Kids found that the matrix from the bunked bed was a bit too hard.

Friendly, feel on holiday right away, host is ready to help for anything. We immediately liked the place and were lucky to extend our stay 😁

From the moment I stepped into this place, I felt welcome, like I was home. Peter and Ae greeted me warmly, provided all the information I needed about Koh Chang, and took care of everything for me. They helped me get the best scooter (the roads are dangerous, so you need a good one!), arranged diving and tours, and assisted with anything else I wanted. When I fell a bit sick while traveling alone, they took me in and cared for me like family. They even invited me and the other guests to a family BBQ on a Sunday evening. Besides the incredible hospitality, the location is perfect—situated between White Sand Beach and Kai Bae. This area is the easiest to drive on a scooter, and the beaches are wonderful (including Chai Chet in the middle). You can also reach Lonely Beach in just 15 minutes by driving. The surroundings have everything you need: great food, a 7/11, a gas station, and more. The cottage itself is lovely and comfy. The shower has hot water, the air conditioning worked great, and there’s a balcony and a small kitchen area with coffee and a fridge. Plus, there’s a shared kitchen outside the room with every kitchen tool you could think of. The Wi-Fi was superb, even better than the Wi-Fi at the co-working spaces on the island. No wonder I came for three nights and ended up staying for almost a month. Thank you, Peter, Ae, and all the wonderful and lovely staff. This will be my home every time I visit Koh Chang from now on.

Peter is a lovely friendly guy who could not do enough to help and advise. His wife and staff are very welcoming also and work very hard to make your stay enjoyable. Peter and his wife hosted an amazing party which brought everyone together who were staying in the cottages. He cooked amazing food, all of which he bought and prepared himself which was very much appreciated thank you 😊 would definitely recommend 👌

Liked almost everything.. location was excellent.. in the middle of the island. Easy access to klaang prao beach (5 mins walk), Lonely beach, white sand beach and Kae Bae Virw point.. the owners are super friendly and extremely cooperative.

Nothing but a couple of suggestions would include; more plug sockets in the bedroom and maybe some form of bedside lights for less harsh lighting. Maybe a washing up bowl so that one can separate washing dishes from the same area one washes hands and teeth as there is only one sink??

Peter (Swedish) and his wife Ao (Thai) as well as every single member of staff at Papaya Cottage are an absolute delight..a rare find indeed. After a super friendly & informative welcome, we were shown to a spotlessly clean bungalow. It was cleaned daily by the irrepressible Pooey. Set in a garden away from the road but close to the restaurant and supermarkets and a tranquil and picturesque walk to the beach along a sandy path. The beach here has good swimming, although some rocks and a few chilled bars Peter & staff helped us book a boat on to Koh Mak which so far, we don't like quite as much as Koh Chang. Good air con in bedroom although none in the rest of the bungalow. Good WiFi. Excellent Swedish coffee every morning as part of the deal... possibly the best coffee on the island??
