How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is a period property oozing with charm and character. Our room was on the side of the main road where all the works are currently ongoing but as the owner has installed sound insulating windows, the noise was not a problem. The breakfast was perfect, with both Thai and international choices, all cooked to order. The location was fantastic, it was close to everything and at the same time this was a reasonably quieter part of Bangkok despite being central. The owner is very keen to share tips and things to do outside the beaten track so it is great to have this insight at hand. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Bangkok.

Verified reviewA special place with exceptional staff. Very professionally run. Excellent breakfast.
The only drawback is that there is no train/metro station nearby. Be prepared to walk a lot.

Verified reviewCute bed and breakfast! Charming and quirky in every way. Lovely welcome and great breakfast! Our stay was cut short due to issues but I can see what people love about this place.
Quirky often comes with odd features but this one tipped in the direction of disappointing. The doors to the room didn’t feel like they locked securely, our bathroom didn’t have a door on it for privacy within the unit, and we ended up having to move hotels because our bathtub overflowed the entire lower half of the room. I was lucky enough to have just moved the suitcase off the ground but it would’ve left many things soaked. The desk was relatively unsympathetic about it, “the girl who checked you in should’ve told you that could happen, we will have to make sure she is trained better.” There was certainly an issue with the tub as it leaked from underneath…enough to pull this room off the market till it gets fixed, but that wasn’t considered. When we decided to move for the second night they waived the unused night but when I asked for any compensation back for the night we stayed due to the bathtub incident they said there was nothing they could do. I worked in hotels at the desk for many years…there is always something you can do. Sad this didn’t work out for us, especially with how highly rated it was.

Verified reviewHighly recommend this hotel for your stay in Bangkok as the staff are exceptional. The rooms were unique/quirky which I really liked and the location was an easy walk to Khao San and the restaurants on offer in that area. Also a nice walk to the river where you can easily get the ferry to the temples and other main sites. The breakfast each warm was a highlight and would also recommend the nearby cafe where there is a selection of yummy sandwiches for a quick and easy lunch. My husband had a medical event while we were staying at the hotel and ended up in hospital for a couple of nights. The staff were incredibly caring and accommodating for myself and my daughter. They made what was an incredibly stressful time as easy as possible by accommodating us with our unexpected need to extend our stay for a further 4 nights. I feel very lucky to have been staying at the Old Capital Bike Inn during this time vs a large and somewhat faceless hotel.
Once the neighbouring train station has been completed the accessibility to the rest of the city will be amazing. Until then its a bit more difficult to get around but we found Bolt taxis super easy and cheap. I also couldn't get the tv to work in the rooms. Not sure if that was user error or there was an issue with the tv.

Verified reviewThe staff were very kind and happy to help in any way they could. The family suite was beautiful. The location was perfect.
There was no where to put toiletries and hang towels close to the sink. The second bedroom in the family suite was too small for 2 teens but it still worked ok.

Verified reviewWonderful stay – cozy hotel with great staff and perfect location We had such a great time at this small, charming hotel. The location was perfect – close to everything but still quiet and peaceful. The rooms were beautifully decorated in a traditional style, yet had all the modern comforts we needed. Very clean, cozy, and full of charm. Breakfast was really good with a nice selection of fresh and tasty options each morning. The staff were truly amazing – very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. A special thank you to Jason, who not only let us borrow bikes but also took us on an evening bike ride around the city. It was such a unique and memorable experience. We absolutely loved our stay and would love to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm and personal hotel experience!

Verified reviewI love everything from this place, but what I love the most from this place are their customer service. It's top notch. I'd been to UK, Philippines, Spain, HK, and Dubai, but this one takes the cake for being the best in customer service. I would even argue that they are the highlight of my travel in Bangkok. My only regret is not booking for more days to stay in this place. I love it. From now on, they are my standard for perfection in customer service. Having said that, this place is more than their customer service. The place looks fancy, clean, and close to the tour venues that I've book. Breakfast is a feast, try the thai breakfast that they served, that was addicting! Also, they leave personalised notes in your room, which I found very sweet. Really, I can't make this up even if I want to!!! That's how good this place is!
Nothing, I wish I could stay here longer.
