Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesAll good.
One of the two ladies (sisters) who manage the Home is the kindest, most friendly host I have had in Chiang Mai province. The landscaping of the property is a mini natural park. I miss staying at Nokkamin Home in Chiang Dao. I could easily enjoy staying long term but my Visa ends soon. I will try hard to return. Motorbike or car is a good idea.

SlovakiaFor some people it might be too far from the village of Chiang Dao itself, but most people use motorbikes anyway as there are no taxis or grab in the area. For us it was no problem.
Nice calm place a bit off the beaten path. Staff was super nice and helped us with anything we needed. It was also very easy to rent motorbikes with their assistance as well. Very much recommended.

ThailandThe bed was the only part I can even say was an issue, and it wasn't an issue if you like a firmer bed. I like a bit of a soft top with a firm surface. Beyond that, nothing else to complain about.
Quiet, cute and just what we needed for a relaxing end to Holiday Break before going back to school. The bed was comfortable, but a bit firmer than I would normally choose. The room was cozy, but had open space if you stepped onto the patio. Water pressure good, warm water machine a bit colder than I would like and could not find a warm temp for water considering it was 14 degrees Celsius in the morning. The staff were great and the honor system was a really nice way to have access to everything we wanted that was right there. Location was perfect to get out of the city for relaxation. I will go back!

We had a lot of fun, along wirh the locals she made us feel very much welcome. The location was great to escape from the other tourists in Chiang mai. I do recommend it!

PhilippinesSo far the place and people are all okay (locals) Some guests are not okay with loud voices at night and don't think about the other guests in the area.
The first thing I like is the people Very calm, polite and always there to help us out The place has very homey vibes. One with nature and the food served for breakfast was exceptional. We were able to have a motorcycle rented and was able to go to Chiang Mai with the owners help.

FranceNothing.
It was a really nice place to enjoy the peacefulness of the valley of Chiang Dao. This hostel has a perfect common place to take the breakfast or chill at the evening. You even have free bread, jam, banana and water. The host is really nice and is here if you need anything. If you really want to go the market or visit the different places of the valley, you can rent her a motorbike. We slept in the tent and it was really comfortable. They gave you everything for the cold nights : blanket, mattress and pillows. It's a good cheaper option. Thank you very much!

GermanyNot so central, you can like that or not. Probably a bit difficult to get there if you don't have your own car or scooter.
Nice guesthouses around a small pond in a village. A bit far from downtown Chiang Dao but not too far. Atmosphere very nice and a great place to relax. We enjoyed "coming home" Community area great, bungalows good, everything worked, also that little balcony is a plus.

GermanyThere were many ants in the room. I do not mind because it is really very rural.
The bed is very comfortable and the bath room has much space. The location is very quiet and relaxing. As I arrived late I had to search for someone to check-in. After that everything went very well. The owner also bought me some very good food.

Japaneverything was perfekt; just one thing to mention: better to come by motorcycle or car since there are hardly any stores or restaurants near by; also for visiting sights or just move around it's highly recommended to have an vehicle
the owner was super nice as well as Lek, the man who you can call if you need something to eat (he will cook and deliver it to you); the resort is really beautiful and the stay in the comfortable tent on the terrace was for me like a Glamping experience; I would come back always again!!!

NetherlandsThe bed was a bit hard and pillows a bit too thick and hard for us. But that's personal.
Cute little place, such a nice atmosphere and styling. Peaceful and quiet (except the chanting of monks in the nearby Wat at 4.30 am, haha). The people are the most friendly! We enjoyed our motorcycle tour with 'dad' so much! One of our favorite things to do during our holiday. Hope to come back one day.
