Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaI think adding a shuttle service, a tuk tuk or a golf cart, to the Night Bazaar or the clock tower would be a good idea..
It is a beautifully decorated and well designed hotel. It seems the owners have designed the hotel not just to make money but to make the guests feel truly relaxed and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The pool is big and has a poolside café too. It is located in a quiet area. 7-11, laundry and other facilities are nearby. It is around 10 minutes stroll away to the night bazaar, but it is advisable to rent a scooter if you want to see Chiang Rai properly. We will definitely stay there again whenever we are in Chiang Rai in the future.

United StatesThe two cafes connected to the lobby area were a nice touch, but the selection was limited. The pool was colder than the other hotels we stayed in in Thailand. The overall price was great. We walked into town often for meals.
The breakfast and the room. The lounge areas by the pool and next to the gym.

United KingdomBathroom smelled a bit like sewage (room 212). The hallway could've been brighter, think the bulb needed changing? The bed was very soft, would prefer a harder bed.
Good location, 3-5 mins drive to town or 15 mins walk. Quirt area so good for sleeping. Staff were lovely and helpful. Hotel had a pool and gym (cable machine, bench and dumbbells) Breakfast was decent, had both continental and thai style.

CanadaBeautiful modern hotel with tasteful decor and a great pool. The rooms are very well designed with great architectural finishes. The whole property is meticulously clean with beautiful gardens and open spaces. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have had during our trip with an outstanding selection of local, Asian, and Western choices, all fresh and delicious. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and are very helpful. The hotel is located about 10 mn by foot from the Night Bazaar in a quiet area. Overall, we highly recommend the Nai Ya and will definitely come back.

AustraliaI had a wonderful stay at Nai Ya Hotel in Chiang Rai! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with stunning grounds and serene fish ponds that create a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection, though it would be even better if the food was kept hotter. The only minor downside was the shower height in the rooms, which was a bit too low. However, this didn’t take away from the overall amazing experience. Highly recommend Nai Ya Hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Chiang Rai! 🌿✨

ThailandThere were a few minor inconveniences. The noise from the upstairs toilet flushing was quite noticeable, and at night, the footsteps from the guests above were quite loud, possibly because they had a child. This made it a bit difficult to sleep. Additionally, we initially found some ants or insects in our room, but the staff handled it well by offering us another room.
I really enjoyed my stay at NAI YA Hotel - SHA Extra Plus. The hotel has a peaceful atmosphere, a beautiful pool area, and well-maintained facilities. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, especially when they offered to move us to a different room after we found some ants/insects in the first one. The breakfast was also nice, with a good variety of options. Especially good staff and very friendly in restaurant.

The location was very convenient to the bus terminal which is why we selected this property. The small boutique style hotel is very clean and this may be the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Breakfast was fantastic as well. We only stayed one night so we didn't use any of the other facilities but they have a small pool with a swim up bar, and a small gym as well that both look nice. I would stay again and recommend this hotel.
