Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanIt would have been nice to have staff monitor the beach and pool area. I would have definitely ordered more food and drinks if I didn’t have to go looking for staff every time. Mosquitos are a big hassle but can’t really be helped…Samui is mosquito capital. Perhaps having bug zappers and treating the grounds with pesticides would help? I hated go to breakfast and coming back either covered in bites or sticky with mosquitos repellent. Rooms were very clean but could due with a renovation. Dirty curtains and towels. The basement under the lobby also needs to be completed redone. It ruined my first impression but thankfully the rest of the resort is beautiful and properly maintained. The spa STILL was not finished. I confirmed before booking that the spa would be ready by our dates but we were not informed until the day of our check-in. This should be on their website. It’s would have been nice to have more English speaking channels on the tv (or a smart tv) when the rain squalls keep you inside A master switch would have been nice in the room for the lights
Room was beautiful and had great amenities The property was nicely maintained The staff were hands down the best part. They really went over and above to make our stay great. Great location. Just up the road from where all the action is but quiet and close to scooter rentals, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. Quiet guests and no kids Note: not a con for me but, the beach is super shallow and calm. If you enjoy swimming in the ocean or watersports, you’d be disappointed.

AustraliaFantastic location, right in town. The staff were so friendly and accomodating, and the room was lovely and spacious. Unfortunately my husband and I were sick for some of the visit, and had to extend our stay as we weren’t fit to fly. I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be “stuck”! The team was really helpful in organising for us to extend our stay there, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The pool was lovely and relaxing, and the breakfast was great. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone.

United KingdomEven though there were several complaints about some of the Israeli guests and their behaviour, particularly around the pool area, no action was taken. They were very intimidating and hostile towards our friend who was a lone female travelling with her children.
Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. Lots of fresh fruits. and choices of Thai and English dishes. Eggs cooked to order, juices, teas, coffees etc.

United Arab EmiratesOverall, a lovely resort in a fantastic location. Situated right in the heart of Chaweng, the resort offers the best of both worlds — close to the action, yet tucked away just enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. The staff was warm and hospitable, and we had a mostly pleasant experience with them. However, there was one disappointing incident. While sitting at the beach, a local vendor came by selling coconuts. My daughter bought one, and shortly after, a waiter managing the beach area told us — rather bluntly — that we needed to dispose of it ourselves since it wasn’t from the hotel. When I asked if the hotel served cold coconuts, he said no. Later, when we forgot to take the empty coconut with us, he approached us again — this time in an extremely rude and unpleasant manner. It was an unfortunate and surprising interaction that left a negative impression. Rooms: This was the biggest downside of our stay. Although the rooms are stylish and equipped with good amenities, they lack natural light and proper ventilation. I stayed in a Grand Suite with a pool view, and while the decor was lovely, the room felt quite dark and stuffy. Opening the doors for light invites mosquitoes, so it’s not a great solution. Installing mesh screens or breathable windows could really improve the comfort level. Food: Nay at the restaurant deserves special mention for their courteous service. Overall, I’d rate the staff a 9/10. Breakfast was on the smaller side with limited variety, and the menu didn’t change much from day to day. That said, the food was tasty. I appreciated the effort the kitchen put into accommodating my gluten-free diet — delicious pancakes, sandwiches, and even desserts every morning. Chef Dee was particularly kind and helpful. Final Thoughts: While the staff (with one exception) and food were commendable, and the location is excellent, the room comfort and overall value for money didn’t quite meet expectations.

IsraelFrom check-in to check-out, this hotel offers an exceptional experience at every turn. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploration. The pool is the perfect spot to cool off and relax, complemented by an adjacent bar serving delightful cocktails. The bartenders truly know their craft! Breakfast is a feast for the senses, with diverse options to suit every palate. The variety ensures a great start to each day. What sets this hotel apart is its lush, green environment. Despite being in a central location, the abundance of trees and plants creates a serene atmosphere, offering shade on hot days and a sense of escape from the urban hustle. The hotel's location is unbeatable. Most attractions are just a short walk away. In summary, this hotel masterfully balances the tranquility of a resort with the convenience of city center accommodation. It's a perfect choice for those seeking a luxurious yet accessible stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Our room exceeded our expectations, it was beautiful, clean and spacious. The most beautiful welcome by the staff at reception and the pool and restaurant staff were welcoming no matter what time of the day. A delicious breakfast with a beautiful view was our favourite was our favourite start to the day. We stayed in 4 hotels during our 3 week stay in Thailand and this was by far our favourite.

AustraliaEnjoying a 4 week stay in Thailand and being our first time to visit Koh Samui for my girlfriend and I, we were looking to book for 5-6 nights, and were so eager to stay at the Muang Samui Spa Resort Chaweng, as the website showcased a beautiful resort. Unfortunately we could not find availability for any longer than 3 nights for the room selection we had wanted to book. We didn't hestitate to book. Unfortunately to our displeasure, having to check out after only a 3 night stay was very disappointing. Mistake learned, being peak season book early as possible. Preferably we would have loved to have stayed in Koh Samui the 6 nights, but we are so happy we chose to stay at this magnificent resort being only for the 3 nights
The design, layout, lushness of the vegetation in surrounding spaces was so beautiful and tropical. The continuity of walking from reception through the resort onto the beach area is just a pleasure. Having breakfast overlooking the calm pristine beach was absolutely serene. I had booked a ground floor room with pool view, and with our greatest pleasure and very much grateful for we were given a room 1 floor up to room number 2??2, which was outstanding. Thankyou so much. 👍 (Room number not disclosed as we hope this room is available when we book again in the very near future)😉 The beach by day lounging around on the day beds was so relaxing. The location of the resort was distant enough for peace and quiet from all the nightlife but still only a 5 minute walk away along the beach to enjoy the party scene. And last but not the least, the resort staff. They are amazing, always smiling and accommodating. If it wasn't for the staff, it would never be a holiday, we would be cleaning washing and cooking ourselves. Thanks again Muang Samui Spa Resort Chaweng. See you again soon.

United Kingdomhave awareness, the entrance of the hotel is at one end of the main tourist strip, with all that brings in terms of bars, shows, weed stores and all that comes with it. The hotel itself is a haven away from this. I was hassled several times quite aggressively by hotel staff by pool and beach on our day of departure, seemingly following a ‘misunderstanding’ about what I know I had agreed with the hotel reception about extending our checkout time by a couple of hours, totally unnecessary by hotel and highlighted a lack of communication within their management team. It was only when I told them I was starting to get annoyed about their hassling and rather panicked and aggressive approach and raised my voice, that they took a more polite approach and backed off. Also when we arrived, they immediately charged my card for the full stay, rather than doing that when you leave. I can only assume they have experienced some customers ‘doing a runner’ overnight or something, but turning up and immediately charging the 10 days room cost late at night after a long trip before handing over a room key did not feel subtle!! Or especially welcoming. Had 2 nights disturbed with late night partying in nearby room, hotel security did respond, but only after calling reception to complain. They should have intervened and done their job before I had to call to complain! Hotel is near airport flight path in case you don’t want 06.15 first flight take off noise. Room TV choice very restricted and poor reception, bit like going back to 80’s.
On a nice beach, good beach bar serving decent quality drinks, with very attentive staff, and restaurant area, big rooms, comfy beds, decent breakfast in lovely beachside setting, well cleaned. Long beach walks in either direction, this section of the beach is protected from the ocean by a rock/ reef barrier that has very little life on it when revealed by the tide. So good for flat water water sports, but when the tide is out, not really deep enough to swim, so wannabe swimmers know your tide table! Some great tourist sights, trip to see/feed elephants is an expensive must do. trips team on reception were brilliant at arranging taxis and a local guide for a day etc…lovely hotel gardens. Hotel is near to airport flight path if you like plane spotting. Beach well maintained and cleared of any rubbish/plastic every morning. Hotel Internet seemed reliable.

BelgiumOnly downsides id say is the breakfast was small and unappetizing. Had it once on our first morning and never again. As well as the gym being quiet small. But as for the food, there are plenty of options to go out to eat so it wasn’t a big issue for us.
Fantastic stay we ended up extending one more night. Hotel is perfect in every aspect. You have the peace and quiet you want, along with the beachfront, as well as the location being on the Main Street of the island. Staff is fantastic and very friendly. We stayed in the royal suite and couldn’t recommend it enough. Definitely will stay here again if the future allows it!

AustraliaWe love this property and have been here 3 times. The only issues are that currently the only English news channel available on the TV is a Russian propaganda channel and the internet, whilst fast, is bloody annoying as you have to continually re log in on multiple devices. Very frustrating. If they fix these 2 things ( on previous stays pre COVID there were plenty of news chanels available ) then we will be back, otherwise we'll find somewhere else to stay.
Great property. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.
