Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA tad outdated (pool villa)
Clean, great location. The privacy and comfort were great. Nice restaurant, too. All the hustle and bustle of Chaweng right round the corner while being quiet and calm on the inside. Best of two worlds

ThailandThe beach was a little disappointing. Not really a swimming beach directly out front of the Hotel. Many pieces of coral etc. making walking in the water uncomfortable. Had to walk about 300mtrs down the beach where it was nice.
Location was excellent close to main area of Chaweng plenty of restaurants night life etc. within walking distance. The staff were fantastic and very helpful.

IsraelThe electricity for charge seems not to work The shower flow water is very slow. No lobby to sit for a group.
Super location, although it so close to the main road, the hotel area is very quiet. The rooms are not so big. The area has plenty of plants, beautiful.

United KingdomIt was a bit dated but we expected that for the price.
Great value for central location. In the busy part of Chawemg but not noisy at night. Pool, longers and bar right on sea front. Bungalow was lovely, sat in nice grounds. Very helpful staff, we were upgraded because of a mix up with the room. Very efficient.

New ZealandUnfortunately we found the staff to be grumpy and unhelpful, which was surprising after all the friendly and genuine service we received at every single other place we stayed in Thailand.
Comfortable stay in a great location, room was quiet despite being right in the heart of Chaweng. Breakfast was great.

New ZealandNot much - sometimes the nighttime noise can be disturbing depending on your room location. The other thing to get used to is that you cannot flush toilet paper (but this is an island thing, not just the hotel).
A hidden gem. A very well priced hotel that has a great location. It’s central for easy access to the village as well as a great swimming beach. The staff were so helpful and friendly.

United KingdomA lot of mosquitoes in the room. And I mean a lot. Never been bitten so much. The shower pressure was not good and the water was either hot or cold. Saying that, the pressure on the toilet hose needs to be turned down!! The fan in the bathroom also smelt terrible when turned on, don't think it's ever been cleaned. Luckily there were two light switches for the bathroom so you can avoid it. No water for the room each day unless asked at reception. Most places I've stayed at just leave it outside. Also no phone to contact reception. *This comment has nothing to do with the hotel however you do get pestered a lot by locals trying to sell you bracelets etc. when on the sun loungers closest to the beach. It does get very annoying but you learn to ignore them.*
Lovely room and big bathroom. Plenty of storage space. Loved that it's like a little chalet. Decor is very dark so can make it feel smaller but there are plenty of lights. Seating area with a drying rack out the front too. Pool was a great size and so warm. Also have pool towels. Right on the seafront with a beautiful view. Great location. Close enough to the restaurants and bars but away from all the noise. Just at the end of the road or a few places down on the beach. The planes do travel right above the hotel but the earliest they started was around 8am.

FranceSome rooms are noisy, with noise coming from the main road bars and clubs. Bungalows are quiet but careful if you are in hotel part. People playing their own music around the pool was annoying. Generally price for what you get is good. The beach directly outside isn't nice but walk 3 mins to a nice part of beach.
The staff were helpful and friendly. We needed to change rooms on first day (very noisy air cons in room 413) and it was done without a problem. The rooms are spacious, pool is great and breakfast very nice.

United KingdomThe Montien is just old and a bit shabby but it's clean and safe and well priced. It can be noisy depending on where your room is but then again you are 50 mtrs from the bars so.....
Montien House is a very good old school Thai Resort. The Cottages and Garden are great and it delivers you straight onto the beach. Obviously with fopilage in Asia comes Mozzys but you just need to spray up. The Staff are fantastic and the restaurant on the beach is a lovely place for sunset drinks

AustraliaBed was hard, my booking I requested and they confirmed would be on ground floor with no stairs. When we checked in was told had a couple of stairs but don’t worry the staff will carry bags up. Our room was up two sets of stairs. We had to go up and down the stairs many times a day, we did not want any stairs.
Location was amazing, right in the heart of Chaweng Beach
