The cabins were really comfortable and well air conditioned, important after a hot day out. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the bar & restaurant were always accommodating. The bird life flying between the cabins was delightful. Even in low season, there were enough open restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Absolutely nothing - this was an awesome resort!

Lanta Castaway was one of the best resorts we've ever stayed at! From the moment we stepped on to the property, we were surrounded by a veritable jungle: huge tropical plants, palm trees and so many plants and trees I've never seen before. It contributed to a series of bungalows that are completely encased in vegetation, so that even though the bungalows are fairly close together, you're in your own world. Super private. Also, the rooms are comfortable, with free water and daily cleanings. The location of Lanta Castaway was also perfect: on a small, secluded beach, where you can easily spend the day sitting at the restaurant or beach-side bar, watching the waves and enjoying the sun and a calm, virtually-private beach. And, if you're working, the fast wifi works at the beach-side tables; a real plus. The restaurant at Lanta Castaway is fantastic, with not only great Thai dishes, but also delicious burgers, quesadillas and chicken wings. And there are several really excellent restaurants nearby, both on the beach and on the street outside the resort. Breakfast was included with our room, and we had our choice of a lovely menu that included amazing Thai breakfasts and Western breakfasts from American dishes to Mexican. Even though you might be tempted to get a standard Western breakfast, I would definitely recommend the Thai breakfasts - which they will gladly adapt to your preferred taste and spice level. And all served by the best, friendliest staff - even though I'm not a morning person, breakfast at Lanta Castaway was the best way to start the day. With all of this, the staff at Lanta Castaway was the best part of this beautiful little resort. Everyone was so friendly, and really went out of their way to say hello, and to familiarize themselves with what we've ordered. We stayed three weeks, and every day was like a little day in paradise. Thank you, Lanta Castaway, for an amazing experience on Koh Lanta!

Would have been nice if the beach bar staff were a little more engaging.

Yet another great stay at castaway. All the staff are absolutely fantastic and always smiling and willing to help from the Cleaners up to the boss. Great massages on the beach. And the best food I have had in Thailand is in their restaurant which is also on the beach. We will definitely be coming back.

I cannot fault this accommodation. It’s on an idyllic spot right on the beach - but also only a short walk to some other restaurants and bars. Our accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Free taxi transfer from pier was a nice touch. Staff very friendly in bar/ restaurant and in general.

This is incredibly good value for money. Double rooms in small bungalows a stone's throw from a gorgeous, uncrowded beach. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and bars nearby, and a 7-eleven, pharmacy etc, but you still feel like you're in a quiet, secret corner of the island. The in-house restaurant and bar are right on the beach and do great Thai and tex-mex (?!) food as well as cocktails. Theres also an in-house dive shop/school which looks decent. The staff are so friendly and nothing is a problem. I have no idea how the prices are so low (about €75/night in Feb 2025). If you don't mind an older, quieter crowd then this is definitely the place to book. I thought the lack of a pool might be annoying but the sea is so warm and calm and inviting that I don't think I would have swum in the pool anyway.
