We booked for 2 nights and stayed one. At this price I was only expecting a bed and shower, one out of two isn't bad I guess. I literally can't believe some of the reviews although there is one that I can believe.

I dont really has any negative to say about this hotel.

As an avid traveler, I've had the opportunity to stay in a wide range of hotels across the globe, from modest accommodations to luxurious five-star establishments. This particular hotel is an exceptional value for the price. The rooms are fantastic and situated just outside the bustling areas, yet still in close proximity to the city. The owner and his staff, including his young son, are incredibly welcoming and attentive. After spending two weeks here, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. It offers remarkable quality for what you pay. Simply outstanding and EXCELLENT!

    Nothing.

Place feels homy, they were so attentive, very reasonable price, nice location close to stuff but not crowded, very nice staff, the woman and her son, answered all my questions, were so polite and helpful...would stay again

Sad, grubby, little hotel, easily the worst place I stayed during a fantastic two month trip to Thailand. I've stayed at a variety of places, some expensive, some even cheaper than 88 and with much smaller rooms, but none had the overwhelmingly depressive, dysfunctional, mean, atmosphere of this place. I booked a week here last minute, at a time when many hotels in the area were fully booked. It was part of a booking.com promotion and I got the impression the owner wasn't very happy with the margins he was making from my booking. The place was mostly empty and it didn't take very long to work out why. For the first time in my life I'd end up leaving early, after only one night, with no way to get any of my money back. One of the issues I had was the advertised Aircon in my room didn't work. I brought this up on multiple occasions while there and was told it was broken. After a very sleepless night, I decided I'd had enough but discovered there was no one around to give the keys back to. Or any place to safely leave them. I waited for hours and messaged the owner multiple times that I wanted to leave and why but got no reply. In the end I had to return the next day to safely return the key and the owner acted 'surprised' I had left. This despite my messages and nothing being in my room which apparently gets 'cleaned' daily. However he was very keen to show me now that actually the Aircon did work. He theatrically led me to my old room to show me. Apparently I had lacked the technique of pointing the remote and pressing the button. Honestly I had to laugh. Other issues like the landing having no light making the stairs a death trap when returning at night, also magically now had a working bulb. Apparently it had been removed at the request of a previous occupant of the room. Not quite so keen to honor my request for even a partial refund though.

The room was a good size and double aspect. The stained couch was reminiscent of a Tracey Emin exhibition.
