Nothing significant. However, to get to your room, it's a steep walk on concrete pavement. Might not be suitable for the elderly or pregnant ladies.

This place exceeded my expectations. The photos that we see in Booking.com don't do justice to this place. The room is very spacious, super clean and comfortable. It has a balcony that we can relax and enjoy the stunning view of the lake. I strongly recommend to stay here and experience this place. I would definitely stay here again.

I have no words. The room was so clean an spacious and from the balcony you have a stunning view. The staff was so helpful, they help me to arrange the tour boat and even an hiking to go to top view of Ban Rak Thai near the border with Myanmar, but I would not suggest it for old people 😅 P.S. Be ready for a hearty and delicious breakfast

It was very cold when we were here down to 8 deg, but there is no heater in the room, hence the less than perfect score.

This is a great place highly recommended, high up on the hill with awesomef views of the lake and the town. It has a huge balcony with seating and great views. There are two double beds which were very comfortable, large shower area they even have hot water in the sink. There is a spare room for your luggage

Not a dislike but in order to get the views you have to go high. A 200 m walk up a steep hill to get to your stay. The staff took the suitcase but still a tough walk. For older people give this a miss.

Parking was a bit odd; we were 'parked in' in the morning, even though there was ample space next to us for the another car. Not entirely the fault of the owners, but they could possibly be more attentive when guests arrive to make sure cars are parked properly.

The room and view were fantastic, and the 'mookrata' that was delivered to our balcony was delicious.

Walking up the hill.

We love the place, what a view!!!. Our room is located higher up in the hill, which can be difficult to reach if you are less mobile. Once you are there, you don't want to leave. It was breathtaking. It is a short walking distance to the walking street of Ban Rak Thai.

Expect to walk up hill steep slope to your accommodation but the view is all worth the effort. Just travel light to easy your walk. Do expect flies and mosquitoes, but they have insect repellent spray in the room. No TV, just the village view is enough to entertain you during your stay.

The facilities are more than what we expected. The place is comfortable, clean and the view is excellent. They are walking distance to the tea plantation, shopping street and restaurant.

For $80 per night - an astronomical sum for remote northern Thailand - I expected better amenities. A welcome cup of tea (it's tea country) might have been nice, or even soap in the room. We had to use shampoo from the shower to wash our hands. Basically, there was nothing provided except the room. It was also up an extremely steep incline, and it rained the whole time. This was very unsafe. I am healthy and strong, but other middle aged people might not be able to deal with this. Also absolutely zero English spoken, in case issues arose. The room was amazing, but otherwise overall our stay did not meet my expectations.

Regarding breakfast, the reservation process was confusing and apparently we did not choose the breakfast option. Which I ALWAYS do. If it was an available choice, I would have chosen it. There were numerous comments, photos, and descriptions of breakfast. Given this and the cost of the stay, I assumed (I think rightly) it would be included. So upon arrival, the guy just rudely told us "No breakfast." And that was that. There are no markets in this village. I asked the guy what we are supposed to do?, and he pointed towards town to get noodles. It poured rain the whole time, so we had to walk into town in the rain in the morning to find food. There were no breakfast restaurants. So we had spongecake and a coffee, the only thing available in town. Ridiculous.

water pressure quite slow

The room was clean, quiet, and had good Wi-Fi. A short walking distance to the town center, The owner was so kind to pick us up from the Airport upon our arrival. The last day before went to the airport, he took us to the nearest temple on top of the mountain. I highly recommend staying in Hedreung Banrakthai homestay and camping.

We found a few cockroaches, the power went out at 2 am and did not come back on again so no hot shower in the morning.

Nothing to dislike

A unique village bordering Mynmar . Great elevation to have an amazing view of the lake. Room and facilities were good quality and plenty of space. Great place to recharge and would definitely recommend a 2 night + stay here.

It’s located at the highest spot of Ban Rak Thai so the view is magnificent day and night. The room is spacious with an enclosed changing room which is so convenient and private. The balcony is also very large and relaxing. Everything is clean and comfortable. With the price this reasonable, I don’t think I can ever book a room that good again anywhere else in the world.

It's a long road to get here. Great stuff but it felt like a lot on top of the already significant days of driving. Evening and morning cooking fires and daytime burning made it pretty smoky.

The room was absolutely beautiful and still smelled like fresh Ikea. And the view from the balcony is ideal. The town is unique and fun - very Chinese with a Burmese population.

The room and view of the mountian was great. Everything is clean and next to the town. You can walk there within minutes. There's a communal fire for cold nights. The balcony is big enough for a family to have a barbecue.
