Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Statesalmost had a mini heart attack when we left our bags in the entrance but the reception didn’t pick up until 4 hours later and the monkeys teared up a bag and had a lot of our stuff on the ground. almost lost some valuables, travel documents and were frustrated the receptionist didn’t warn us to leave our stuff inside or the timing of the pick up. besides that the curtains for the main door infront of the bed leading to the balcony with the view were broken, someone came to fix it the first day but couldn’t and it was halfway open/titled the whole stay and no one came back to fix it even though we called couple times, we couldn’t use that door for the balcony had to go around lastly the location was kind of inconvenient if you’re staying out after 11 to explore downtown, or even mid day having to book for a boat shuttle to go to the main area, sometimes it could be fully booked and you have to wait another hour, but its what it cost for having a private place so depending on your preference
amazing place, but services could be a bit better. almost had a mini heart attack when we left our bags in the entrance but the reception didn’t pick up until 4 hours later and the monkeys teared up a bag and had a lot of our stuff on the ground. almost lost some valuables, travel documents and were frustrated the receptionist didn’t warn us to leave our stuff inside or the timing of the pick up.

South AfricaThey need to improve the quality of their cleaning in the rooms, especially the bathroom. We booked a room with 3beds, the 3rd bed was just mediocre. The staff at the restaurant by the pool were a little hostile, insisting we pay after each drink even though we were still lounging and swimming
Beautiful exotic hotel. The ocean view from the room was breathtaking. Nice buffet selection.

United Kingdomthere should be more boats on to get back across to the pier as only 1 every hour - hour and a half. Food and drink way overpriced which you feel is done on purpose as no shop near by. 240 baht for 1ltr of water is horrendous. Not a fan of the added service charge, should be up to the individual if they want to tip

United KingdomThe prices at the hotel were far too high. The only way to get to the hotel was along a monkey trail, which was a real endurance test, or by the complementary boat that dropped you away from Ao Nang, so you had to get a taxi into Ao Nang where the shops and restaurants were.
The hotel was right on the beach.

United Statesbe aware of a few significant drawbacks. Firstly, the food and beverage prices are shockingly high, significantly more expensive than what you would typically find in Thailand. Be prepared to pay a premium for every meal and drink. Secondly, while the shuttle boat does its job in transporting guests, it quickly becomes a hassle if you plan on exploring beyond the resort. If you're considering a stay longer than 3-4 nights, you might feel somewhat trapped due to the reliance on this ferry. Finally, the hotel appears to be showing its age, and there's a noticeable lack of effort in maintaining or renovating the property. While not dilapidated, it's certainly not as fresh and modern as it likely once was.
The view is breathtaking – truly one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Plus, the breakfast was delicious and very generous

Australia-this is I’d say a 3 star hotel not like the photos, we checked into our room and I asked they move us to a better room as it looked nothing like the photos- the best room view was much nicer but still not anything like I thought I was booking. -no hot water for a few of our days -they lost our bags for hours and after many calls we finally got them -location meant you had to get a boat into ao nang and back it was so poorly run that you would book it and then be told you were unable to get on.
-staff lovely but extremely understaffed

AustraliaNo golf channel or Netflix movie channel on the small tv. We didn't like the transparent door on the toilet, no privacy. We feel the price's of the food and wine were too expensive. THB 80 for water to drink with dinner is too much.
The location was great.

Once we checked in the room, room floor wasn’t clean, can’t walk with bear foot, this remain all our stay. Wc in the room very poor, needs replacement at least of the toilet seat.

United StatesConsidering the high cost of this hotel, we expected a higher level of service and better maintained facilities. The room assigned to us was unacceptable with a broken door lock and non-functioning telephone. However, the 2nd room assigned to us was much better and we had a comfortable stay. The breakfast was ok, but not up to par compared to the many other hotels we’ve visited in Thailand. We did not like having to walk the monkey trail after dinner each night. The hotel’s complementary boat shuttle only runs every 1.5 hours and has to be prebooked, which was not very convenient.
We enjoyed the pool and beach. The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful.

United StatesPros: - Beautiful facilities - Tasty food - Plenty of options for things to do on and around the resort - Very kind staff, available always - Helpful app for all resort activities and communication Cons: (typically I would not be bothered by much of this, but given the price, I expected better) - Transportation was a bit challenging to figure out, particularly for early morning flights — hotel airport shuttle was very expensive, and no other options given, so we ended up booking a taxi in town, meaning we had to take the monkey trail over before sunrise. - Resort was quite buggy (mosquitoes and cockroaches in room and throughout resort) - Hot tub over 30 minutes to fill up & the cold water knob was broken so only very small stream came out

SwitzerlandThe shuttle boats to Ao Nang could have been more frequent and embarkation/landing more conveniently located in the village. Towels were taken away by the cleaning staff and not replaced- even though we had not placed the towels on the floor for replacement. They did not replace the toilet rolls.
It’s a beautifully situated property with traditional Asian style, which is quite rare these days. The room was very spacious, with a wonderful L-shaped balcony with a little whirlpool and a chaise-long. Partial view of the sunset and beach. The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful.

FranceSome areas needed maintenance - not always super well maintained for a 5 star. We had 2 fans not working during 5 day stay. In spite of 2 reminders, they fixed one just the evening before we left and the other one was not fixed. Restaurants were far from best value for money. My two kids turned sick during the stay. At least one of them was due to food poisoning.
Location and design and materials used. Friendly staff. Super convenient application.

South AfricaThe hotel is tired looking, and I believe will be undergoing a much needed renovation soon. We were initially assigned a rather sad looking room with an obstructed view of the sea - the hotel manager however corrected the issue, and the room we ended up with was a lot better and had a beautiful ocean view.
Beautiful ocean view from our room, and the jacuzzi on our balcony was delightful. Breakfast is a feast, and staff are friendly and accommodating. The spa was also a treat. The staff at the Club Lounge were particularly lovely and helpful - thank you.

SingaporeThe property is very tired and needs a whole large renovation, breakfast not appealing, the hotel is on an island and the only way to go out is though the boat that you have to book or a steep monkey trail that takes about 20mns to climb on stairs. Not good access for guests who want the ease of going in and out to visit
