We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff have been more than helpful. You really only have to ask if you need anything. You have the beach right on your doorstep, so to speak. And a great pool. There are plenty of beds around the pool area. You have a varied choice at breakfast. It's always nice to have tea or coffee in the morning to start your day..... The restaurant also has a nice choice of meals, with some really great cocktails. We enjoyed the veiws during the day of the beach. And the peace and quiet of the place day and night. They really do try and keep the place/grounds up together. We enjoyed our stay that much. We extended our stay for longer.... In fact, we are still here.😍... If I was going to write anything negative, it would be about the white towels used for the bathroom. They are in desperate need of new ones.

The sink is outside the bathroom and in the main area. Walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbours. There’s no shower curtain so water gets everywhere when you shower. No telephone to contact reception and once we did try to call then on our private phone, we had to call 6-7 times before someone answered.

Close to beach, easy to walk from/to. Close to many restaurants and shops. Nice and taken care of area. Good breakfast.

The bungalow we stayed at had some problem with the flushing, so you had to flush a couple of times. We had a rather big cockroach in our room one evening after coming home from dinner.

Due to some trouble we arrived after 10 P.M. when the reception had closed, but the old man waited for us and we could check-in the day after. Friendly staff overal. The location is really good, just next to the beach. Nice sunbeds (made of iron so quite heavy)

The breakfast was OK but could have been much better. We went out and bought papaya and mangoes to add to the watermelon and pineapple that was available every day. Bananas would also have been nice. The Thai food for breakfast was always our favourite but more could have been offered. The restaurant, it's setting and staff were all great.

The beach. Khlong Dao Beach is one of the most beautiful in Asia with fine sand, gently sloping into the sea. It was perfect for my 87-year-old mother. Golden Bay makes the most of this with a beautiful lawn looking out to the Andaman Sea and a small terrace perfectly sited for beachfront lunches and cocktails as the sun sets out in front of the hotel. The food was limited but wonderfully good and the staff were lovely. I also loved the monitor lizards that from time to time wondered across the lawn and the hornbills that landed on the roof of my hut at night. It was a great place to spend a very relaxing Christmas.

Rules, rules, rules! Had to sign an A4 full of rules during checkin. Signs inside the rooms also with more things you can't do. I didn't know that drinking and eating in a room could be so bad. Do I have to walk out of my room to take a sip of water or have a quick snack? Who knows! It was just a bunch of rules that made the stay very uncomfortable. I can understand not wanting durian in the room despite my liking the fruit, but all eating and drinking being banned is ridiculous. The breakfast was a bare minimum for this price. I expected better. Also, maybe because I don't see marshmallows and gummy candy to be part of breakfast.

The location was great and the rooms spacious. I also appreciated the pool towels provided.

This place has so much potential! We stayed for three weeks, and there’s just some small things that would improve the place hugely. Whilst there’s room for improvements, it also feels like the owners are content with the way it is. The beds could be better / softer with some extra top matresses. There should also be mosquito nets available. Although the staff did spray our room when I asked, and we didn’t have any mosquitos after they sprayed.

Probably the best location in Klong Dao! Very friendly staff and always clean and nice surroundings. We had a showerhead that didn’t function, and it took less that ten minutes before it was fixed; the staff all really did their best to make everyone happy all day. We also got a really quiet and lovely bungalow.

Our first bungalow was very ran down, bed was extremely hard and we were bitten by bugs for the entire night, however we asked to be moved to a different bungalow the next morning and staff agreed and moved us immediately without any problems which was nice. The second bungalow was much nicer with a comfy bed and it looked more looked after. They were both classed as standard bungalows, so it might be a lucky dip when it comes to the room. Cleaners weren’t great, our bed wasn’t made up properly ( it was an old blanket put between what it seemed to be two single sheets, so not a proper quilt or cover and since it didn’t shut it was all over the place and blanket was always coming out of the „covers” and it seemed that even cleaning staff struggled to put it together nicely and we were finding our things on the floor after they’ve cleaned. Breakfast was very bad, it’s the same buffet every single day, noodles were always cold, there were 3 people just standing on the side but they never refilled anything, so every day we had to keep asking for them to refill the milk, bring more fruit, eggs etc, considering that there were only 2-3 tables of people in the restaurant each time we had breakfast I don’t understand why it was a problem to keep the stations stocked, it really wasn’t busy at all.

The lack of power plugs in the room.

It is not a 5-star hotel but considering the price I paid that was cheap I got everything I basically needed such as the location is right on a lovely beach, a beautiful swimming , plus free breakfast. The place was well kept and the staff were great, especially Kob, the receptionist was amazing. Thank Golden Bay for making my holiday the enjoyable one.

It was very quiet, when we stayed there just before high season, which meant a lack of atmosphere.

Great location right on the beach. Very clean. Nice pool with view of the sea. Food is good. Staff is helpful and friendly. Easy access to beach restaurants, main street and close to Saladan.

The executive manager was problematic - as alluded to in another guest's review. I was offended by a his attitude; especially an interaction that became abusive.

A hotel resort feel, I could have stayed longer (I was there for 2 weeks) had it not been for the executive manager.
