Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgThe restaurant is over priced and of lower quality than what you get in the villages outside. It is not possible to make the room dark (no thick curtains or whatsoever). We are not used to sleep with the light so we woke up at sunrise every day.
The breakfast is amazing. The bungalows are very beautiful and spacious and the location is stunning. The beach is not the best you can get in koh chang. However the property is providing free shuttle to and from white sand. Or you can rent a motorbike if you want more flexibility.

United KingdomThe resort looked like it was waiting for a few updates. The children’s play area and games area had both seen better days and these were some of the biggest reasons for us choosing to stay at Ayapura. There were no activities - like cinema nights or yoga, or even massages or kids club. We had to ask for these at reception - and activities or excursions needed to be organized by guests rather than staff.
Great location in terms of being lovely quiet and away from busier parts of the island, but without sunsets and also a muddier inlet that wasn’t ideal for swimming or bathing.

IsraelOur bath in our room had green markings on it, not taken care of to be clean. It was a disappointment that it wasnt clean because we booked the villa for the bath so we ended up not using it. If there was slightly more care in cleaning the rooms i would be happier. The restaurant had two waiters who were very pushy to try and make us order more even though we werent interested and politely declined. I would advise to not be this assertive as it made us feel almost scammed. We wanted peace in our dinner time.
The food, view, kayaking, room, all were great The reception staff were very helpful with helping us see the island. Great breakfast

SlovakiaWe could hear everything that was said and done in the next room, and it was quite a lot. The sea had a muddy bottom, which made it unpleasant for swimming.
Very nice staff, quiet place, beautiful breakfast spot and breakfast itself as well. Shuttle bus to the market and white dane beach was perfect. Paddleboard for free helped variety of activities.

NorwayThe only drawback is the location and that the in-area beaches are a bit small. But as they offer free shuttle buses to White Sand Beach, it's really easy to get to nicer beaches.
Room: Both me and my company lived in deluxe twin rooms. The rooms held a good standard with comfortable beds, big TV, balcony and effective air condition. They also had insect screens covering the balcony doorway, which made it possible to get a draft through the room in addition to the air condition. The staff and service: Everyone we met was really helpful and very friendly. They helped us with evrything we needed and offered great service from check-in to check-out. They picked us up by the ferry, and helped with the luggage. The Aiyapura also offered complimentary services, like rides to the local market every hour and shuttle buses thrice a day to White Sand Beach. Food and drinks: The breakfast buffet was rich and offered both traditional thai cousine and some more traditional western alternatives like pancakes, eggs, cereal etc. Everything was really tasty and they changed the courses from day to day, so you get to try many amazing dishes. The restaurant was great as well, also serving both thai and western food to soothe everyone's needs, and theyoffered a great variety of non-alcoholic drinks as well as the regular coctails. A big thumb up for the pool bar. Fascilities: There were lots of areas and zones, and the whole of the facilities felt like a small village. The pool was comfortable with available toys and an open pool bar. The beaches were a bit small, but the overall area worked well as a nice place to swim, sunbathe and also get some gazebo shade. We rented SUP, and tried the game room for activities. The game room was ok, but the air hockey table needs an update. Unfortunately we never got around to try the fitness room. Addition: For the animal lover the peacocks also were a really nice touch to the whole stay, but be prepared for some sporadic peacock shouting matches. We found it fun and cute, but some might find it a bit noisy.

CanadaThis is definitely not a 4 star resort. One night the shuttle didn’t come to the pick up point at allotted time. Kayak are damaged and half full of water with no way to empty them. No beach for walking just small pockets of beach area. Out in a very secluded area so if peace and quiet is on your list with nothing to do by all means this is the place.
Room was really nice we had a bungalow Sup’s were a nice touch.
