How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewReally beautiful location next to the springs, felt like a retreat to get away from the business of the city. It's simple, and nothing fancy about the bedroom or bathroom, but it's a beautiful place to have a breather!
I think the bathrooms and bedrooms were quite old, and the flooring wasn't so strong.

Verified reviewNear a water stream and not far from nature / hot springs. The host was a likeable guy.
Very very noisy (hippie festival was in place) + dogs are barking the whole night. Doesn't worth 650 bhat.

Verified reviewThe owner is very attentive and helps as much as he can to make the stay more comfortable The property is right by a beautiful canal stream where you can touch the water and relax Very close to the hot spring which offers a unique experience The breakfast is average but it is a great opportunity to chat with the owner and connect with other guests
The water pressure is quite low which may not be ideal The room has a small window with no real view The location is far from the city so you need a personal car or motorbike to get here No hairdryer is provided

Verified reviewLocated in the middle of nature, by the mountains. The place is absolutely lovely and charming. The bungalows are right next to a little river flowing calmly. Don't expect much, but just reconnect with nature and enjoy. The owner, Ung, is the sweetest man ever. He will make sure you have a comfortable stay. He cooks breakfast in the morning. The beds are comfortable, with mosquito nets. The bathroom is spacious. There is a fridge also in the room.
Nothing.

Verified reviewThis place delivers exactly what it promises. A rural retreat in a beautiful location. (And at an incredibly cheap price! ) These days it's hard to find somewhere that offers a taste of a simpler way of life where you can genuinely unwind and just relax. The chiang dao hot springs (free to use) are a few minutes walk away and very relaxing. We also walked to the Chiang Dao Cave Temple about 3 miles away. (Most people were driving cars or mopeds but we had neither so we walked 😊. If you're used to walking, (as we are) and can deal with the heat, it's fine. If not then book a taxi, they're very reasonable. The owner is THE most pleasant man, genuinely interested in all of his guests and asks you all about your home country and does his utmost to make sure you are well looked after . He cooked us breakfast each morning and cut up fresh fruit for my son who doesn't eat eggs or meat, and made toast . There was tea and coffee available anytime and the kitchen to use as you wish. Our cabin/bungalow was small but completely sufficient for our needs. There was a TV on the wall but we didn't use it. The shower room was good with an efficient hot shower, towels and soap provided and toilet rolls. If, like us, you are lovers of nature, camping, and a quiet beautiful place to relax, then you will definitely enjoy Doo Dao Doi home and stay.

Verified reviewLovely location near to the hot springs and handy for a hike. A short distance out of town but this wasn’t as issue as could easily take a taxi for 150 baht. Nice breakfast; fabulous host… Functional no frills accommodation but this is reflected in the price.

I don't understand how this booking got such great reviews. I had such high hopes until I arrived. The rooms are filthy and smell like mold I ended up pitching a tent and sleeping in there, and it is far from everything.

Verified reviewOur stay was cool, owner is really nice guy he called taxi for us, made us amazing breakfast every morning and just the atmosphere of the place itself is really calm. Everything was clean and even though there is no network for data, there is WIFI connection! Mosquito net is there too!
You can pay only cash for the accommodation which could be tricky as there is no atm nearby.

Verified reviewThe place is quite serene with a river flowing next to it and a large open area with shady trees to walk in. Bonus: The host accommodated us with vegetarian breakfast options. Oh, it's also within walking distance of the Chiang Dao hot springs.
