How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHotel is well located, easy access to the beach, there is a 7/11 and restaurants across the street. The area is clam and within walking distance to many stores and nightlife if that is what you are looking for. Staff is great, went out of their way to help all the time.

Verified reviewSmall, almost new Hotel, with maybe 20 bungalows and rooms, restaurant with excellent choice of typical local dishes, with beach view. Possible to le Au around the pool and at the beach. The hotel is quiet, also no load neighbour hotel, restaurants or clubs. You can see the planes, but hardly hear them. Staff is extreme friendly and helpful. Location perfect on the Main Street; easy to get transport, or walk to the Main Street for dinner.
Mattresses could be a bit softer.

Verified reviewLovely property, nice small complex with helpful staff, a great pool and right on a quiet part of the beach. Within easy walking distance if the hustle and bustle of Chaweng. The villa was very cute, we loved our stay.

Verified reviewJust outside of the main area. Easy to walk into town. Very pretty rooms and perfect for our family of 4. We were all very comfortable and the rooms were cleaned daily and of a high standard. The pool area was nice with the restaurant attached which served very good selection of dishes. We had lunch here every day. Right on the beach which was nice to walk along, the sea is very shallow so you had to walk a way out to swim. Very enjoyable trip and would recommend.
The pool area was sometimes very busy with young families and as it was quite a small area could be quite noisy and hard to have a relaxing dip/swim with out getting dive bombed next to or a football bounce your way.

Verified reviewThe hotel combined simplicity and comfort at a decent price. It was well located at the quieter end of Chaweng beach and good for a family stay.
For a family of 5 the accommodation was snug even though comfortable but worked well for our 5 night visit

Verified reviewI like the location on the beach and near 7 eleven, pharmacy and ATM. Nice pool. Good breakfast. Nice front desk staff. Filtered water was great for filling up bottles.
No sunbathing on the beach. Need luggage racks in room. Need wash cloths in room. Breakfast should be served earlier than 8am. Robes in room would be nice.

Verified reviewStaff were lovely, looked after our needs, were very attentive, and went out of their way to help with any issues and offered advice on day trips, etc. Large family rooms, AC worked well, which was an added boon with the heat and humidity. The whole place was spotlessly clean, the bar/restaurant had lots on offer, and literally beach front. A reasonably sized swimming pool, Couldn't ask for more. We arrived as a group of 10 family members, I feel we were adopted by the Blue Turtle team. Just an awesome experience.
Nothing.

Verified reviewBeautiful room, very clean and a great pool ideal for younger children. Right on the beach, the staff were all lovely, and the restaurant food was the best we had on the island. Couldn’t fault the hotel at all. There’s a cool reggae bar next door with swing seats, that promises fire shows every night though they weren’t on while we visited. Would definitely recommend this hotel for families.
The hotel is about a mile away from the centre of Chaweng so lovely and quiet but a taxi was needed if we wanted to explore (due to having a young child). There are boats anchored right outside the hotel, and frequent trips occurred so the beach wasn’t as nice as other areas we visited.

Verified reviewSmall hotel with spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms in a beautiful garden setting. The Blue Turtle has obviously been refurbished recently and it has been done to a very high standard. Lovely comfortable beds, great bathroom with quality shower (not always the case on the Thai Islands), friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was extra but very good and reasonably priced. We also had lunch which was similarly tasty and good value.
No complaints really.
